CONTEST for GFV POINT COST

I have been saying $175 as the opening price since they announced
As it gets closer I now think $175 is the lowest price we will see. Up to $190 will not surprise me. I also think the incentives will not be dollars off but rather some kind of add on like APs or Members cruise or Victoria and Albert dinners. It will be fun to see how this plays out.
This makes the $48 per point we paid in 92 feel really great.

I think the lowest DVC will sell GFV pts for will fall between $150-160. That's at the start of sales and all incentives included. I think like most others that the price will quickly soar closer to $200.

Given the size of the villas, I think it will be similar in pt structure to the VGC. Which is about the midpoint of the BLT categories. Like the VGC I doubt there will be much if any availability at the 7mo window most of the year.

This thread is a fun read! I am curious to see the actual offering when sales are FINALLY announced ;)

Opening price will be $165 with $8 discount for members purchase 150 points or more. Prices will eventually go to $220.

Since Disney may be reading this...I say...they'd be crazy to price it at more than $100/point. Studios should also go for 8 points a night. ;)

I think Disney will try to keep the prices a relative 'low'. By that I mean $165/pt or less with $6/pt discounts on contracts of 200 pts or more.

Where they will hit VGF buyers is in the number of points required per room (think BLT and AKV SV) where studios will start at 24pts/night for standard view and 30/nt for theme park view.

I'm going to agree with you. I think it's gonna be about $160-170/point. Minimum new contract between 160-175 points. I also think the rooms will have a high point per night cost. View rooms will command a premium.

We're going on a cruise soon, so I'm hoping GFV debuts closer to the time we cruise so that it's "cheapest" when it comes out, especially if they do some OBC cruise incentives with it. If they give us more than the standard offer on the cruise, that might just push us over the edge to buy.

What are the normal OBC incentives?

I would love to own here but cant fathom spending 40k so I can stay in 1br. That just seems silly to me if I can get other resorts for a 1/3 of that. I know less years but not many less if I get BLT

$180 per point, with $8 per point discount for members who buy 150 points or more.

I think initial price will be for current members at $165/point with some sort of incentive

I think $175, with incentives that could bring it down as "low" (hah!) as $160.

$160 pp
$10 off for purchase of 160 or more.

Studios at Christmas/Easter
Standard view - 28 pts.
MK view - 35 pts.
Concierge - 42 pts.

If classic resorts, with 2042 expirations, are to be priced at $130 after March 20th, then I believe it is unreasonable to assume its flagship resort will be priced for a song.

The price point will likely parallel the current selling prices of BLT and VGC. We should anticipate a price of $165 or more.

First you have to assume that it cannot possibly cost less than the current price of BLT, $165. Moreover, they have announced price increases for all resorts effective March 20, with GCV going to BLT's $165, AKV and Aulani to $145, and the rest of the WDW resorts at $130. No change has been announced for BLT. What they have done is pave the way for what is likely to occur for GFV and thus my guess: $175 for GFV for new purchasers with an $5 discount incentive. For a short period of time, there will also be a better incentive for existng owners, likely $175 with a $10 incentive if you purchase at least 100 or 120 points (the 120 would match BLT's current minimum for a $5 discount). Moreover, when they announce prices for GFV, they will also announce that BLT's prices will go to the same level in some near future date, thus creating an incentive for prompt BLT add-ons.
