Contemporary Suites Permits

I sure hope this "rumor" turns out to be fact. I really want our next DVC purchase to be in the Comtempory

Can I stand the ongoing, and I mean ONGOING rumors? YES!!!!

Go DVC Contemporary. Although I love BCV, I would gladly buy near the monorail, although in that area I've only stayed the Poly and just find the Contemporary too old and boring, except for Chef Mickey of course.:yay:

Nope, now I just get a blank page. I do think there is something untold about what is going on at CR, but if it's DVC or not, remains to be seen. I agree about the order of how things will be added. The only thing unknown is what about the River Country site, should that be determined to be turned into a DVC resort.

What browser are you using? I usually use Mozilla, but I sometimes need to switch to IE (ugh) to access some files (haven't actually tried these links lately).

What is "River County Site"?:confused3

River Country was the original water park at WDW, kind of an old fashioned Tom Sawyer type place where you could swing into the water on ropes or on modest slides. They closed it down several years ago. It just would not compete against the other modern water parks. I went there once a long time ago and stil remember enjoying it.

Great! that will give me at least another year to come up with the money! Figure DVC wil start selling points in another 12 months when they get to about the 7th floor.

I'd say, IF it's DVC, you probably have more like 18 months or more. I'd figure they'd start selling around 8 to 10 months prior to the ability to occupy (sort of like AKV), or approx late '08 or very early '09. But that's just a guess.

 Us too! We'll be there! You can count on it! :thumbsup2

To Do: Make DVC reservations at the Contemporary for Halloween 2009. Check! :goodvibes

I don't know why the link wouldn't work. Go to http://my.sfwmd.gov/ePermitting/PopulateLOVs.do?flag=1 and do a search for Disney. Under the Contemporary Suites, there are several files showing. There is a 6.2 MB file under applications that shows plan drawings and discusses DVC replacing the North Wing. I know that these rumors have been dismissed, but the application is dated November 6 and was approved January 3. Only time will tell, I guess.

Interesting. They are calling it 'Disney's Contemporary Suites' on page 1.

Ahh, there it is ... 'dvc @ The Contemporary Contstruction Trailer Compound' on page 4.

Maybe they changed their mind and went with Suites instead of a DVC resort?

My guess is no. I figure it's a DVC resort in the making and the name change is a smokescreen.

The real guess is how much? Judging by the June 07 increase and anticipated increases in points costs, we are probably looking at at least $110 per point. Of course there is always the DVC early bird special prior to occupancy.

I and my DS only hope the pool is as great as SAB, but I wont hold my breath (unless I'm under water)..:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

My guess is that this is a "new" level... Disney is focused on providing service up the food chain. I think this is a mixed use Suites and DVC building - hence the conflicting/dual name use. And I think it will be priced to match.

I'm going with $150+/pt :scared1:

At that price I will stay with adding on more at BCV. $150 per point is not in my now or future budget and I'll be dead before BCV expires. However I'm sure they will get a lot wiling to pay that close to the castle. But for $150 a point, if my view inside the circle is of the villa across the courtyard, not interested.

Can someone explain the Suites/DVC thing to me? Anyone can rent a room in any DVC resort, so I don't get the distinction. :confused3 Are we just talking about how may rooms would be "dedicated" to rack rate vs. DVC?
