I traded DVC points for a Garden View room at the CR for the Dis Con. Can anyone tell me about that section? The Garden View rooms are not in the main building of the CR, are they? How far do you have to walk to get to the monorail? How far to walk to MK?

You will most likely be in the South Garden Wing. Views for a garden view range from a courtyard to a canal to the lake. You can request any that you prefer. The best (in my opinion) would be the ground floor lake view rooms (you'll have a patio, too).

The walk from the South Wing to the MK would probably be around 10-15 minutes. We stayed in the Tower, and it was under a 10 minute walk.

:)

Ask for a room close to the main building also, along with ground floor. This way you are closer to the Monorail & the Food & Fun Center. South Garden Wing is closest to the pool, North Garden Wing is closest to the main building, however, North is being leased by SoG right now.

In 2000 and 2001, I stayed in the south garden wing. Ask for a room close to the main building because its a long walk if you're at the end of a hallway.

We had stayed at the tower for several years in a row, but in 1999 my parents came with us for the first time and they thought the tower was too expensive so we booked rooms in the South Wing but paid for the water view, rather than standard. I faxed them with the request and then talked to them at check-in. I was told these rooms were great -- but when we got there (after walking what seemed like forever!), the view was completely obstructed by trees. The rooms were really lame compared to the tower. If you are definiately going to stay on one of the wings I would not worry so much about the view but request a room close to the main building.
