If you have booked a Standard Room - Club Level you have 1 chance of tree to have the unique room with a Bay Lake view.:worship:

Hello,

It's my first post. :flower3: I'am sorry i'am French and don't very good speak (write) english. For 3 days i told me the same questions about the 14th Floor, rooms and Magic Kingdom views. And it is not really easy to know the truth.
First i booked at the Atrium Club (12th Floor) with a Magic Kingdom view request. Bay Lake are certainly a good view too, but when you come from France you want to see the Magic Kingdom of course. :wizard:
So when i send email with the itinerary planning office i asked for the difference between the two concierge levels and they told me there is only suites on the 14th Floor. I was a little beat wondering, because i know concierge level to be guest at the Disneyland Hôtel concierge level at Disneyland Resort Paris : The Castle Club, with breathlees Main Street U.S.A. views, that where suites are, connecting rooms are.:cool2:
So i made few date tests on the internet walt disney world website for a room only booking. And, what appear : Standard Room Club Level and Standard Room -King- Level and when you read the description, you will see that the Standard Room -King- Level offer a Magic Kingdom view and it is not a request. :cheer2:
So i book per internet. BUT it was impossible to book this type of room with a magic your way package on internet because when you had tickets this type of room disapear.:confused:
So i called the reservation center and i was switch at guest services specially for suites booking :cheer2: and then it was possible to change my room reservation only in a magic your way package with deluxe dinning option because it was the same for the cast member, when she choose the basic dinning option, this type of room disapear.:confused:
And when i asked if Standard Room -King- Club level have always Magic Kingdom views she told me no and put my Magic Kingdom view on request.:eek:
But now, when i see the plan from for the 14th Floor it is clear that :
- It's possible to book a room at the 14th Floor ;
- It's possible to book a Standard room -King- Tower Club ;
- The Standard room -King- Tower Club offers always Magic Kingdom view.
That are certainly the truth.:thumbsup2
The only think i hope not to be upgraded in a one bedroom suite with a bay lake view.:rotfl2:
Thanks for posting that and welcome to Disboards.

Perhaps we will certainly see us.:rotfl:
In Toronto you don't speak French ?
I will come with my pin trading bag, i see that you are pin trader ?

The two times we booked 14th floor it said CW King on the confirmation. The last time we stayed there it was on DVC points and we ended up with a MK room. The view is unbelievable as is the service!

To the best of my knowledge, because the rooms are so limited on the 14th floor, they do "block" a room number for you when you make your reservation. At least those I've spoken to who have had room reservations up there, have been able to find out their view immediately. Maybe this policy has changed, but that's how it used to be handled.
Within the past year I booked a room at the CR and this was true for us. They told us our room was blocked out when it was booked so we knew for sure what we were getting. I don't know if this has changed...but that is the most current information we were given.

The reservation confirmation email has arrived. It identifies the room as Standard Room - Club Level (CY). Is the CY for sure the 14th floor King Level, or do I need to call them again to make sure?
According to the map that Linda provided on post #2, CY is either room #4913 or #4905 (2 queen beds).

Thanks for the confirmation. I thought that was the policy, but noticed a few previous posters had mentioned it was luck of the draw for the 14th floor as well. I didn't think that was the case and would have been surprised if the policy had changed.

when we went last August I requested and got an MK view, it was the last room all the way down the hallway. The only problem was it was and ADA room (handicap) and just didnt work for us. It would have been the room at the very top, all the way to the left when viewed from the parking lot. After a day we moved down to the 12th floor which we liked much better. Tghis room FYI has not been renovated, at least not as of August 19th last year.

We were in 4905 last August, and even though I had requested the MK view, we were very happy with the Bay Lake view. The sunrise over the lake was beautiful, and we enjoyed seeing the water parade from our balcony. It was also nice to go to the lounge to overlook the MK and watch the fireworks there, too. The balconies on the 14th floor are huge, too.

Per the previous poster's note that the rooms have not been renovated... they have only had a soft rehab (linens, curtains, etc.). The headboards and dressers are still the old ones. I didn't have a problem with it... we had plenty of storage.
