Constantly Fatigued

My DD was going through the same thing for the last 2 years. FINALLY we found a doctor who didn't dismiss her as a sulllen and lazy teen. She has Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease that has attacked her thyroid and caused hyopthyroidism. She also has extrememly low levels of Vitamin D (which will also make you feel very tired).

Only the doctor can tell you, but a full thyroid workup and a check of B-12 and D vitamin levels is an extremely good idea. I'm sure (s)he will also test for anemia.

Lyme's Disease, Mono - they both also cause extreme fatigue.

I am going through exactly the same thing!!! I am currently out of work due to antixety. My doc prescribed Paxil, which is about when the excessive tiredness came into play. Unfortunately I stopped Paxil and still am soo tired all day I can barely stay awake. I take at least a 2-3 hour nap EVERY DAY.

But before this even happened I couldn't sleep at night. Dr chalked it up to my axtiety. But even through I can't sleep I am exhausted, I just can't sleep.

Have you been tested for Celiac Disease? Celiac Disease is an autoimmune disease which is caused by a reaction to gluten (wheat, oats, barley, rye, spelt). I was tired all of the time. I would take 2 hour naps and wake up exhausted. I could barely put one foot in front of the other.
