My husband did not like the 7 night Disney cruise (he's weird). We went 3 years ago - kids were 5 & 9. They are now 8 & 12 & have been begging to go on the DISNEy CRUISE. I want to take them - but DH won't go.

I am thinking about just doing a 3 night cruise with them & 2 days at WDW. Is the 3 night worth it? Can I do a cruise w/o DH?

If I get a flight that gets into Orlando at 11:30 am = will I get to the port in time?

Sure you could do a cruise without him....hmmm....

I don't think I'd personally ever plan such a big (and pricey) vacation without my DH - I enjoy his company too much.

Perhaps if he was going to go somewhere with his buddies (hunting, fishing, golfing, etc) I might...but wait - he's as big a Disney nut as I am and he'd never be left behind!

You know your DH better than I do. I'd be hitting him up with how much it means to the children....what wonderful (no pun intended) memories your family would have...and finally if he still needs prodding I'd end up telling him to suck it up and get on the ship with his kids.

Gosh, I guess it's a good thing my DH is as anxious for our next family cruise as I am.

I guess I'm not a big help.

HI treloarf,
I'm taking my 2 kids by myself on a 4 night and then staying in wdw 3 days.
I have read many posts for moms who took their children themselves. Some bc DH didn't want to go, couldn't get off work or there was no DH.
All said they had a great time. I love disney and so do my children. I also love cruising. Their dad shared none of this , so off we go.
If you have a chance, read some of the posts from them.
I know there a people who couldn't imagine doing something w/o DH but if he doesn't want to go.. I think it's great that you want do this for you and your children.

Maybe he will decide to go with you since it is a 3 night instead of a 7 this time. But even if he doesn't go, I am sure you and the kids will have a great time!

My DH wouldn't be happy with us leaving him behind, but my brother in law is the type that doesn't want to go on vacations with his family, so only you can know what will work for your family.

The 3 night gives you the BEST of the BEST. You see all three Disney themed shows (Hercules, Golden Mickeys and Dreams), you get to eat in each of the restaurants, and you get to go to Castaway Cay.

So yes, it is nice, but it does go by fast.

Enjoy!

I travel as a single mom with two kids 10 & 12 and have a great time. In fact you may find it will be a wonderful bonding time for the 3 of you. I ask my kids what are the top 2 things they would like to do/see and then I let them help me with planning even though I have final say.

So see what your kids think of taking a cruise without Daddy. You may be surprised that they might enjoy a trip with just Mommy. And Daddy might like some time to himself to relax.

I'd be a little nervous arriving so late in Orlando for making the port. I'm one who likes to arrive the day before just in case. No telling about weather or flight delays.
