Hi Everyone!

I am seriously considering buying into the DVC and have been learking around these boards and got some great info but I have a question regarding points. I don't recall seeing this posted so if it has already been asked I apologize. For a week's stay it is X number of points. What do they consider a week? It is say a Monday - Sunday or any 7 days straight?

Any other advice or questions I should ask before taking the plunge?!

Thanks for your help!

The weekly point rate is for any 7 consecutive nights. You could check in on Wednesday and check out the following Wednesday morning or check in on Sunday and check out the following Sunday morning - any 7 consecutive night period.

this may be unnecessary to clarify, but in case you didn't see them...the point charts for the different resorts are available by clicking in the top right corner of the page under the timeshare store banner.

and in case you're used to other timeshares' rules, DVC does not require weekly stays. if you want to book only 1 night, you can. if you have the points to stay 15 days straight, you can. if you want to stay 2 nights in a studio and then move to a grand villa for the third night (subject to availability, of course), you can do that. the flexibility of the program is very impressive to me...

That's what I thought but wasn't sure. Thanks for your help LisaS!

chalee94 I do have the point charts and thanks for your advice as well

But if sometime during the week the season changes, the points will either increase or decrease depending on the new season. Points aren't like cash stays through CRO where the price you pay for the first night stays with you the entire stay.

Like Dec 31 is high points, but Jan 1 isn't.

Thanks for that info ... I did not know that.
