Considering DVC can reps negotiate?

The guy that said they gave out passes for 8 years is absolutly correct. I just purchased DVC this past January from AKL and got $12 off per point plus 8 non expiring AP Vouchers. So i have AP's for 8 years and if i play it right up to 16 years. These were AP's and did not matter about how long you stay or about occupancy. Those AP's and the discount saved me tons and that is why i purchased DVC. So those good incentives still exist, you just have to be patient.

Judging from the quote below, he was talking about the early purchasers, which was a program as I described. They were no AP for those early purchasers, they were Length of Stay passes based on the numberof nights of your reservation and 1/2 the occupancy of your room. The official name, as listed in our POS, was the Limited Park Admission Program.

I don't know, but the best incentive ever was for those who bought early, free park passes for 8 years.

In January you got an AP incentive with 8 passes? Where did you purchase?

They were running the "Castle to Castle" promo back at the end of '09 through Jan. '10 good on both VGC and AKV. That offer did come with up to 8 AP's depending on the number of points you purchased. We looked at it in November, but ultimately ended up adding on less points than required for that promo so we took the incentive dollars instead since the "free" AP's meant buying at full price, and then getting the AP's. It did not have any dollars off as so many of the incentives are. Kind of like the "free" cruise promo - buy at full price and get the cruise vs. dollars off.

Ah - I thought that the promos with AP's had been much earlier than that. :thumbsup2 But that jogs the memory now.

Buy a resale if you want to negotiate the price.

When dealing with The Timeshare Store, Inc.® we work as a transaction broker so if you present an offer we take that to the seller. The seller will either accept the offer, counter or be firm at their price.

You are exactly right it was the castle to castle promotion. With AP's the price they are now its still a good savings. Plus the 8 AP's are non expring vouchers so as the AP price goes up my tickets are worth that much more. Im just happy to not have to add park tickets to my trips while paying MF for my DVC purchase to save on the additional cost.

I got an incentive of so much off per point plus developers points when I bought VGC. I could have those or the cruise..but the dollars off per point still applied.

We have been considering a DVC purchase. Thought about seeing if they could kick in some tickets or free dining on the next trip. But, by the sounds of it in this post, that would fall on deaf (mouse) ears. ;)

Disney does not "kick-in" anything that they don't currently offer to everyone. It is take it or leave it on their terms.

When I purchased there were some options on the incentives such as using the points in that year (since we already had our vacation that year) to lower the price. But these were just options - the price associated with each option was firm.

The price pert point is the price per point. Never discounted.. We bought 10 years ago and no discounts on the points interest rate where high and do not know what they are today.. Maybe check into borrowing against your home for a lower rate... It still a great deal .. i have 250 points and sell about 75 to 100 pts per year.. It a forced vacation and staying in a fab place ..

There always is some kind of incentive. Some are better than others. We got to use our Polynesian stay as credit towards our OKW points in 1997. Brought the price down to about $50 a point.

When did you buy?
