looking for some help from those of you who are much farther along in the planning process. is it possible to do it affordably? i'm thinking i'll have about 25-30 guests, mostly adults but a few families. i dont even know where to start to find info. help!

Yes! It is possible to have an affordable Disney Wedding, although with your guest count you would need to have a Wishes wedding, which has a $10,000 minimum. If you can whittle the guest list down to 18 (plus you and your fiance = 20 total), you can have an Escape wedding, which starts at $4,000. Both types of wedding come with annual passes, so if you're honeymooning in WDW, it saves a bit!

The best place to start is Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings website.

Then, when you get confused by all the options listed there, come over here and we'll try to answer your questions! :rotfl:

wow. very helpful! yes, 4000 sounds better than 10000, i will take a look at the site and definitely come back!

Mildubb- Something to think about as well if cost is an issue like it is with us since we are paying for the wedding. We are doing the Escape wedding and a dinner at V&A after. We have 18 guests. But when we return, we are hosting a reception at our house and will be catering in food (Olive Garden or something) so that way we can invite all our friends coworkers etc that we could not invite to the actual wedding, and allow them to feel included. We will be sending out invitations (DIY ones for this) to make it seem a little more formal and less of an afterthought for those invited.

So that is always a thought too if you have to whittle down your guest list. Once I explain the restriction son the guests and that the cost goes up to 10k, people become very understanding :)

ooh i love that idea. we had thrown around the idea of a big engagement party for all those who couldnt join us. i like your thoughts. as i dig into this it is starting to seem more and more daunting. :) but i'd like to make somethign work!
