none of those reflect my own sentiment, which would end in "handbasket".

I didn't leave a comment because it wouldn't have been supportive except to say I pray for you and your family, turn to and listen to God, and don't screw up this country any more. ;)

Be back; gotta change a poopy diaper. I swear this kid drops a pantload everyday.

i don't think i want him to "succeed" 'cause i think that'd mean implementing at least some of his inane "plans". the best i can do is hope he doesn't cause too much irreversible damage.

Ditto.

The comfort I have is that I have a strong feeling many of his plans won't pass, or will at least be deemed too unrealistic for mass consumption. However, that is under the assumption that nothing gets done in Washington. That might change with the bigger Dem majority in Congress. :scared:

Still, I have faith nothing too drastic will happen. The worst I can see happening is the troops coming home right away, which is something I don't see happening too quickly because of inevitable difficulties that will emerge. Still...........I am very prepared to eat my words.

Okay, now I'm going to bed for real this time.

G'nite, all. I'll try to ignore life as much as I can and drop in.

Have any of you ever been to this site? It's called Voice of the Martyrs. It gives accounts of people being persecuted and/or tortured for their Christian faith. You can write to some of them; I wrote an encouraging letter to a 20 year old lady imprisoned in Pakistan. :sad1: It also lets you sign up for a monthly newsletter.

All righty then. G'night!!

No but I'm headed over there to check it now this second.:goodvibes

Okay, ONE more thing.

Can someone please tell me why I found this so amusing? I still have no idea.

Obama and Me

Okay, now I'm really going to bed.

I found it amusing but kind of sad because bho was just a figment of this kid's imagination. Wish it were true.

I love ZO. Preach it, bro. Wish I lived next door to this guy.

Okay, so I take a few days off and come back to find I'm behind 80 PAGES?!!! Oy. For once, I don't think I'll be backtracking and reading what I missed. Anything important or Earth-shattering happen? Y'all can save me 5 hours with some recaps. :rotfl2:

Hope all is well with everyone. Just thought I'd pop in before turning in for the night. :)

Um, well, I was declared Queen of the Universe since we decided that Evil Conservative Overlord was already taken by Pres. Bush. I levitated my toaster but only by .0008 inches. My fingernails grew and I can run backwards but skip forwards unless the moon is waxing it's legs.

How's your mom?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

She's doing pretty good. She's recovered well from that surgery last Wednesday. They haven't called with the final results though, so we're thinking they'll just tell her at her appointment next week. I'm praying the initial results that said non-cancerous were right. Trying not to think about it too much. She had her MRI yesterday and some other test called Gamma something or other... I've never heard of it before. She gets those results next week too. Met with the chemo doctor last week, and he also doubts she'll need it (only if something extra shows up in all these other tests, which they don't expect). The (hopefully) last surgery to actually remove the problem area is next Friday. She's very much looking forward to that because she says then, even though she'll at least have radiation, the actual cancer that they see will be gone. I'll be so happy when it's gotten rid of too.

One thing I forgot to tell y'all last week was when she was in the room before they knocked her out for the surgery, a nurse came in and told my mom they were going to get her all ready to have a tube put down her throat. There was another woman there with the same last name getting throat surgery, and they had mixed up the darned it all charts. My mom was not happy, and neither was my dad (or me, when I was told about it). Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. And frankly that scares me to death if I ever have to have any kind of surgery at all. Wake up and they've done something to you that you didn't need? Hello, lawsuit.

i meet more and more conservatives all the time, but that is only because they accidentally say something out loud that's a clue. in california, you really find yourself assaulted if you say something within hearing range of a liberal.

Oh, I hear that. A few years ago I was getting to know a few other moms on the PTO. We hanging out after a meeting talk turned slightly political. Someone mentioned Al Gore and another mom caught me rolling my eyes to myself, she excitedly slides over to me and in hushed tones asks "are you a Republican?" I nervously answered yes and she whispers "me, too." We spent the evening comparing political stances and high fiving when we agreed. It's so rare to find another conservative here, we were giddy to discover this after knowing each other for years.

I take a lot of razzing from my friends, but it's good natured. I still love 'em.

Soarin08;29646933 Well if I add [URL="http://chotchkies.flair.nliven.com/flair_img/2/1/7/a/217ad98767890b01072d00c9261a020103026523.jpg" said:
THIS[/URL] to my signature will it make that fact official??:rolleyes1

I want that flair for my Facebook page! I have a few liberal friends that would just loooooooove the see that. :rotfl:

They're some bunch, aren't they? People like me drive them absolutely crazy. When I don't say the exact thing that fits into their preconceived notion, they just pretend I did! :lmao:

OMG, YES! That's exactly what they do, isn't it? It's infuriating. :headache:

Hello, everyone. I am exhausted. It was a long day today. You know, I had my physics professor postpone the due date of an assignment (by a week), because the due date was on innaugeration day??

i've had a maniac in the workplace "overhear" an extremely quiet conversation i had with somebody, then come to scream at me so i'd know what an ignorant moron i am. this was the same person who called payroll to scream at them because "bush lied" when he said there'd be a tax decrease (within a pay range which she was not).

i also lost a friend of 15 years when he befriended somebody who would, out of the blue, start spewing abrasive blanket statements at the sight of a mccain bumper sticker, and then proceed to call me names. this was quite recent and i'm still very sad about losing my friend (who never, ever came to my defense.)

at work i sit near the kitchenette, where i get to hear all sorts of nasty things about conservatives, flung around at the top of people's lungs. when they're in there, i make a point of needing another glass of water and i walk through...one guy always comments, "oh, here comes that evil one."

short answer: in california, it isn't easy to find conservative friends, so i think we keep our mouths shut most of the time, and are thrilled to find others who are like-minded, but that is few and far between
I know what you mean :sad1: .

A little off-topic...

I'm getting books to read on the plane (long flight). Has anyone read any of Joel Rosenberg's books? ("The Last Jihad," etc.) He's an evangelical Christian with a Jewish background. I saw him on Precepts for Life.

Anyone read Francine Rivers? ("The Mark of the Lion" trilogy). I couldn't put those down.

Also, does anyone watch/read Kay Arthur Precepts for Life? I like that kind of Bible Study. Makes me want to really dig in and learn.

Oh...and I'm really leaning towards those AP's...wow, that will make things really flexible on our trip.

I have heard of Joel Ronsenberg. I think that he spoke at my church before. I think his book would be good. When do you head out to WDW?
