Might as well- mine'll get crappy before much longer. It's actually pretty good for right now (had a little adrenaline rush a minute ago ) so I hope it stays that way.

EDIT: OMG someone just answered the phone!!!! But unfortunately for me he's through with the show for today.... ok, that gives me hope... NOOO not hope!!! BAD WORD!!! Ummm..... that gives me..... grrrr, another word for that bad h--- word.....

Yeah, now I'm sort of not really looking forward to motherhood anymore..... just kidding. I want kids. Seriously. But whoever my DH turns out to be is gonna have to let me sleep and he can take care of the kids every once and awhile....

If you can get some sleep once in a while motherhood is a wonderful thing!

I feel truly blessed that our DD has slept through the night since she was 8 weeks old -- 8pm until 7am. I have no idea how we managed that or got so lucky. I know she's a freak more than being the norm. I think people write it's normal behavior because they wish it was so and not necessarily because it's true in reality

You're probably right about the books.

DD has periods of sleeping good for a while, then not so good. I'm concidering getting that Dr. Ferber book. I keep threatening to Ferber-ize her.

Um, well, I was declared Queen of the Universe since we decided that Evil Conservative Overlord was already taken by Pres. Bush. I levitated my toaster but only by .0008 inches. My fingernails grew and I can run backwards but skip forwards unless the moon is waxing it's legs.

One thing I forgot to tell y'all last week was when she was in the room before they knocked her out for the surgery, a nurse came in and told my mom they were going to get her all ready to have a tube put down her throat. There was another woman there with the same last name getting throat surgery, and they had mixed up the darned it all charts. My mom was not happy, and neither was my dad (or me, when I was told about it). Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. And frankly that scares me to death if I ever have to have any kind of surgery at all. Wake up and they've done something to you that you didn't need? Hello, lawsuit.

surgery: i say you don't go into surgery these days without having first written on your body exactly what is to happen and where. i had this happen with a mere x-ray when i was a kid, and the technician couldn't figure out right from left...."no, it is MY right leg, not the leg on your right as you face me..." they don't like hearing from kids... you should have heard the blood curdling scream for my mother!!! (hey! it hurt...my cartiledge was torn and my leg could not straighten!)

They always have said that laughter is the best medicine.... between Glenn and you guys I'll never have anything life-threatening wrong with me, since like a fourth of my day is spent laughing absolutely hysterically.

Who wouldn't? I think that whole thing's funnier if you listen to the podcast where that came from. The head guy had a five-minute interview with Obama, and right before it he said, "and up next, Barack Obama...and me." He said the last part as a little aside, but one of the other guys sang it like it was a kid's show "Barack Obama and Me!" kind of like that old show "McGee and Me." The whole joke spiraled from there. I looked at it and I was a tad lost but I found it very amusing. I thought it was just because I was tired.
