Glendale actually, just up the road.

I've been to the Burbank studios on many occasions, inside and out. Gotta love a dose of Disney history with a Starbucks and Panda Express on site ;)

Wow, I just got finished with Disney's bio, and now I am dying to visit that site. Now that I know they have Starbucks, I think a pilgrimage is in order.

Tink...beautiful family photo. Your baby is adorable.:goodvibes

Soarin...I'm so glad to hear about the 'new guy!' Sounds like DH and me...we would talk on the phone for hours and hours (this was before the days of texting!)

No bomb was found at the high school, like I thought, but my DS said they made everyone stay locked in all day, and pretty much nothing happened all day. They did move the basketball practice to a different location.

DH is exhausted. He's had to get up every night in the middle of the night to go run his car, to make sure it starts in the morning. He's beat from doing it all week, and all last week too.

Oldest DS is housesitting for a family that lives on 80 acres way out in the boonies. It was about 2:00 a.m., and he heard scrunching in the snow, and someone was knocking on the window. He grabbed a shotgun that they homeowner had, and went to investigate. Turns out it was a moose eating a tree branch, and the tree branch was touching the window and was making a tapping sound.

Oh...and my oldest son also bought his first car today! After looking around for a few weeks, for a 'cool' used car, and realizing there are a lot of dishonest people out there, he found what he called an 'old person's car' :rotfl2: ...a Ford Taurus wagon. I told him I thought it would be great for camping gear, or basketball stuff, or his dog...so he thought about it and decided to buy it.

...Tiffigrub. She stood 5'5" and had a face that looked like she got hit by a Mack truck long-hauling the biggest case of ugly you'd ever seen. She could sing, though, by God, and soon the two of them were on easy street. Until Tiffigrub got hooked on peppermint sticks...

-thank goodness for no bomb.
-hilarious about the moose!

-good choice for a car

...and they were near the end. what would they do now, with a house made of peppermint sticks and rain on the way? they were in a constant state of panic, what with having to start the car in the middle of the night all week, the moose eating their trees, and a basketball game to play. there was no end in sight, when suddenly...

...they discovered a cave in the middle of the woods, and decided to run a radio show out of it where they only played bagpipe music and PSAs about pot-smoking, and they were contented, until...

Okay, I have to go to bed ya'll. G'nite!

wow, bummer, i was still in glendale? (a charming city where my brother lives). oh well...i loved the outside.

what's it like inside? how do you plan to get me in there as an i.t. project manager?

It's our mecca... you may be cons, I may be a lib... but that's our mecca.

It's like walking into Disney history... it truly is amazing.

Ok when you get the job, I demand that you sneak me into the Burbank studios.:lmao: Any place with a Starbucks on site is sacred to me!!!

You know that yellow ID that has your name on it and WALT DISNEY WORLD across the top? It's good enough for you to walk in ;) The starbucks is close to the archives.

pr surfer, you should use us all for your glowing references. then you'll get the job and can invite us for a visit!

somehow I doubt I'd get much of a reference from anyone on this thread :rotfl: I'm using my bosses from the Obama campaign and a few clients in media as references for TWDC

Wow, I just got finished with Disney's bio, and now I am dying to visit that site. Now that I know they have Starbucks, I think a pilgrimage is in order.

again, its close to the archives.... but a pilgrimage is mandatory, with or without the Starbucks. Buckie's just makes it easy on those of us with 4 hour time differences, who may have spent 7 hours on a redeye to get there ;)

blestmom--I am so happy to hear that there wasn't a bomb at the school. Very scary. Oh, btw, I watched the SP interview that you posted. It was really nice to hear her point of view. I really hope it warms up for you guys. Your poor dh!

Speaking of dinner, here's what I'd like to have:

Oh, my. That looks so good it hurts.

Want. Now.

Patrick Stewart showed up, threatening to send in Keanu Reeves if they didn't turn down that crap down!...
someone else's turn.

Jean Luc Picard.......says Number 2 a lot (poop), I can say that now. My points are expired.

that's a good smiley... reminds me of Otis T. Wren

all is well... I'm done breaking in the Porsche, so I'm in Puerto Rico till Tuesday and then back to the BVI until I figure out what's next.

Specifically at this moment, I'm prepping a resume to submit to Disney Consumer Products. They're looking for an experienced and bilingual packaging designer in California, and I'm looking for full time employment and a reason to go to California.

I probabaly won't get it, but still, it's worth a shot. I won't mention that I submitted a Canadian Permament Residency Application last year though.

Hi Hippy! Hope things are well with you. :)

Canoe Reeve funny. very funny.

...and allowed a stray piece to flake off into her vocal chords. She never sang again, but before that, she did record a single song which rocketed to the top of the charts and made...

.........the concept of soprano yodeling quite fanciable to the smart set, who nevertheless found a way to........

I agree, I need to go out there and see all that. It's one of my goals before I die.

Okay, now I'm really off to bed this time. :confused3
