Conservative thread: We're still smiling!

good choice... best of the resorts. It takes a franchisee to put the Disney operated parks to shame.

oh.. Hi Cons!

I've been to WDW, DL, and DLParis. Paris wasn't that big of a deal.
I didn't enjoy Pirates in french. :lmao:

I went to DLParis back in 1999. What made my brother and I laugh was when we did Star Tour and the entire thing was in French until a video popped up in English. We lost it :lmao:

It was neat to see DLParis, but it's soooo far away, WDW is just so much closer :goodvibes DL is next on my list!

Wonderlanne- you have the best smilies!

It's really neat and lots of fun! :goodvibes

We have a family DVC membership and DH and I have been thinking of taking our share of the points and using them out there. If we can get a decent airfare this fall we might try it.

He's a college kid. If breezy feeds him, then he'll never go away.:lmao:

I was actually thinking of what a wise conservative who used to post on this thread once said.....

If you don't scratch the itch - it will go away

:lmao: :rotfl2:

But now that you mention it....lasagna anyone? :teeth:

PLEASE!!!!

That's a college kid for you, always hungry....;)

I've never made lasagna..or a lot of other things. I'm an ok baker, but not much of a cook. I got Martha Stewart's Cooking School book for Christmas and I have been reading that, but I find it hard to cook for 2. Most recipes are for more people, and there's only so much leftovers you can eat!

Any ideas from the smart cooks here?

Goodness, y'all have been chatty today - in response to what has been posted - bravo! I too spent the 8 Clinton years not watching the news and listening avidly to Rush - boy, I can crush in Trivial Pursuit, the 90s edition - Rush's show offers quite the education in current events. I predict I will be spending the next 4 doing the same....

So...are you trying to have me say what my position is on the political spectrum, if you must know, i'm a moderate that slightly leans to the left

Welcome to the con thread ... to give a little background...there have been posters who have been rather incendiary in their debates even in a personal nature. Those posters get reported to the point that they are banned from the DIS. Sometimes, they get a new IP address and come back for more. They pop into the con thread as a brand new poster and start the debating again. For all intents and purposes, you fit that bill - apologies for what must have appeared to be a knee-jerk defensiveness. It comes from having to be 'on guard', I hate to say.

We'd love to go to DL at Halloween time to see that. We both loved Nightmare Before Christmas. I wish WDW did that.

ooo - I think I know the answer to that [thanks to one of the many Disney travel shows I've recorded] - WDW is geared towards people making that once-in-a-lifetime trip, hence the once per year all-out Christmas, er holiday, decorations. DL is geared towards repeat visitors so tries to change things up a bit more. At least I think that's right - might be mixing up my Disney shows.

Speaking of, I got my ME tags AND my park tickets today!!!!!! Two weeks from tomorrow I'll be at WDW!

[about just getting the park tickets, for a long while there, I didn't know how long everyone would be there so I had to wait until the last minute [or so it felt like] to get them]

DH's cousin sent us this photo from her camera:

You have a beautiful family.

Hey, where's Hockeymom? I haven't seen her in a while. Did she go to WDW?

Okay, for all of you Michiganders (and all of you who aren't from my wonderful state), please read this article. It's worth the read, I promise.

For those of us from the Detroit area, it made me cry. It's by Mitch Albom and it's in the January 12th edition of Sports Illustrated. I know Hockeymom will be touched by this - especially on the automotive aspect of it all.
