I second the hmmmmm. Seems between your CP and now this, we'll be having some stories to hear for quite some time.:thumbsup2

Good morning to you too! Prison, yeah, that's probably where some of the PTs would like to put us, you know, like when we engage in blasphemy against the HHO, aka the High Holy One.;)

:rotfl2:

I like that! We've been calling him THE ONE, in our house, but that's even better!

I'm waiting for the ring to appear on his hand, you know, the one we'll all have to bend down and hiss, oops, I mean kiss, when we are in his presence.:rotfl:

I saw another interview this morning where he said again how his economic promises can't happen right away.

What happened to all that talk of starting work right away on Jan 20th and signing the economic stimulus that day? Of course, he's going to blame Congress, but that doesn't fly. Congress is Democratic now.

Freudian slip there Teresa? :lmao:

Me personally, I'm quite entertained by the disaster that is the Illinois Senate seat. Seems that the dems in DC were one-upped by scumbagovich with this appointment, and they're going to have to eat crow and seat Burris. Even Obama has changed his mind and says to seat him, but the SOS didn't sign Burris' certificate, so they've got all sorts of chaos going on. Kinda takes the heat off the Gov for a few days. Political brilliance at its best.....because of course now we have to deal with Bobby Rush claiming this is all racially motivated. (because we all know that is the ONLY reason why anyone would want to deny Burris's appointment--we're all racist)-but the only ones raising a rukkus about it are the democrats. The Republicans are all just sitting back watching the trainwreck unfold.

*sigh* I need to go in search of an AM tuner of some sort for my IHome. I can't get any AM radio signals at my office, and streaming audio is blocked on our internet so I can't listen to Glenn and it SUCKS. Anyone got any ideas?

No solutions-but get this! DH has a radio at his desk at work where he listens to talk radio. He keeps the volume very low so only he can hear it. Last week another employee was at his desk discussing a work project while Rush's show was on. Magically, this week a directive comes out about listening to radios at work! Of course, this employee was an Obama supporter with signs and buttons all over her work area.

So, DH said he went to each of the people sitting close to him and asked if his radio was disturbing them, and they all said No, that they couldn't even hear it. He went to his boss and asked if he could continue using it as long as those closest to him were not impacted. His boss said "Ok, but don't tell "X" that I said so, or she'll be running to HR! If you have to speak to her about work, go to her desk." So, DH said, "don't we have regulations about what we can display on our workstations?" Boss says, "Yes, we can't put up anything that would be offensive" So DH laughs and says: "Well, "X"'s desk with all that political stuff is pretty offensive to me!" Boss laughs too and says: "Yeah, since that radio thing, I decided that it will be coming down after Jan 20th. Enough is enough."

Lesson from this boys and girls? Be careful what you complain about, because it may come back to bite you!

Good morning everyone!

I am so darn exhausted. Yesterday I took a nap from 3pm-7pm and then was back in bed by 10:30pm. Slept until 6:30am and right now I could fall asleep again. Of course, I can't do that - I have a four year old here. Wish I could con him into taking a nap with me.

I even ran on the treadmill to wake myself up and I'm still exhausted. I can barely hold my head up I'm so darn tired.

I think I'll hop in the shower and maybe that will wake me up. DS is begging me to give him a bath. He wants to "shave" (we gave him a play shaving kit and it's so darn funny to see him shaving). I'm pooped.

Today is my husband and my 15th anniversary. It's also Elvis' birthday. Guess what we are doing to celebrate? DH is working, then rounding at the hospital (second time today), then has a meeting with his nurse practitioners and after that, he'll be interviewing a possible partner (oh please let it work out so he can get some rest) while I stay at home with the kids. What fun! I probably won't see him until tomorrow - he'll be working a boat show tomorrow night and all day Saturday and Sunday, so maybe I'll see him on Monday? :)

I think the ring's already there, but it's not on his hand......:rolleyes1

HHO :lmao:

:thumbsup2 I love it!

Now he's playing the fear card:

US president-elect Barack Obama has warned that the country's recession could drag on for years unless the country agrees to pump record amounts of cash into the economy.

It was the fourth day in a row he has called for a huge infusion of public money to stave off the fallout from the credit crunch.

"I don't believe it's too late to change course, but it will be if we don't take dramatic action as soon as possible," he said.

"A bad situation could become dramatically worse," he said, painting a dire picture - including double-digit unemployment and 1 trillion dollars in lost economic activity - that recalled the days of the Great Depression in the 1930s.

Now he's playing the fear card:

Hmmm.....I wonder if we'll hear any cries of outrage about "fearmongering" from the other side now.

I don't really wonder too much - I find their outrage to be just a tad onesided ;)

Got this in an e-mail from a friend

I haven't had a chance to go to school. Supported spouse who was full-time associate pastor for five years at a church that never paid him.
This is the first time in our marriage that I haven't worked. I was WAH but I told boss where to put it; he doesn't want to pay me what he owes me.

I need to look into student loans; it's the only way I can pay for college. :confused3 :sad2: I've tried for scholarships and can't seem to get any. I don't even get credit for being a ward of the state when I was younger. DH is such a chicken when it comes to letting me go to school.

Continuing education (especially under a degree plan) is great! I look forward to the day when I can pursue my next degree (this will have to wait until my sabbatical comes up).

hehehe........

OTOH, hope your husband's boss is ready for the lawsuit that will likely follow......people like that lady sure like to litigate....

Heard a funny yesterday regarding the whole Reid/Blago/Burris debacle

Senator Reid is the Mall-Cop of the Senate. He screams, "Stop" or I will tell you to "Stop" again.

I just thought that was funny. I am greatly enjoying watching Reid get spanked by "The Chicago Way". I sure wish there was some way for both sides to lose though......

Someone at DH's work always likes to say - be careful about trying to dig a grave for someone else 'cause you could be digging your own. ;) I don't know why the boss is waiting for Jan. 20th...

Good morning everyone!

I am so darn exhausted. :)

Take care of yourself MM!

Enjoy.

You betcha!!!!!

On the Chicago TV show "Public Affairs with Jeff Berkowitz" on June 27, 2002, state Sen. Obama said, "Right now, my main focus is to make sure that we elect Rod Blagojevich as Governor, we..."

"You working hard for Rod?" interrupted Berkowitz.

"You betcha," said Obama.

"Hot Rod?" asked the host.

"That's exactly right," Obama said.

In 2004, then-Gov. Blagojevich enthusiastically endorsed Obama for the Senate seat after he won the nomination, and Obama endorsed Blagojevich for his 2006 re-election race in early 2005.

In the Summer of 2006, then-U.S. Sen. Obama backed Blagojevich even though there were serious questions at the time about Blago's hiring practices.

At the time, numerous state agencies had had records subpoenaed, with U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald telling authorities he was looking into "very serious allegations of endemic hiring fraud" with a "number of credible witnesses."

Freudian slip there Teresa? :lmao:

:rotfl: It was a slip of the finger, or was it?? Maybe my subconscious thoughts were coming out? I'm usually a stickler for spelling, and went to correct it, then thought "no, that's about right"! :lmao:

Thanks for asking.

She's still struggling. She'll be fine one minute and the very next minute she sees double, can't grasp or speak. She talked with her neuro on Monday and asked for surgery. They are going to take out her thymus (not sure how that's spelled) and put her on a chemotherapy like drug. I'll probably go down there to help her while she's in the hospital for chemo.

She's got good spirits about it and is very positive. Once the thymus is out and the chemo is done, they are expecting a nearly full recovery. Good news.

I can't believe I ate that whole cheeseburger. It was yucky and I still ate the whole thing.

That is just awful.... I am glad it sounds like they have a good idea of how to help her... and I hope and pray for her successful recovery...
and for her strength and comfort during the treatments...

I'm using your High Holy One out there on the $7 gas thread and the volunteer day thread.

Apparently, the PT's need the High Holy One to invite them to help their neighbors, they couldn't find a reason to do it before. :sad2:
