Now he's playing the fear card:

i listened to that hope dope this morning. just a lot of big talk that amounted to:

"i don't really have a plan other than to print a trillion dollars, devalue our money, and add to and create a bunch of socialist programs, and you're all going to be thrilled with that. oh yes, and because some of you are listening only to the tone in my voice and not the actual words i am saying, you are going to think i am the most fabulous thang ever to have stood behind a lecturn, in similar fashion to hitler."

I am way behind on my movie watching in general......like years behind ('cept for Disney 'natch ).

I watched a movie last night called "A Walk to Remember".

My Mom had recommended it to me and I finally got around to watching it last night.

This was a very well done movie. It made me think of the recent abstinence threads and those who spoke up and defended their choice.

I just wanted to say that I am very glad to say that I know people who have made this choice and have expressed it so well.

For 8 long years, I never listened to one single thing Bill Clinton ever said to the American people. Not once. Not a State of the Union. Certainly not an Inaugural Address. No press conferences. Nothing. My finger just acted on its own to hit the mute button or change the channel as soon as his face graced the screen.

me too, but i think i use a different finger. (oh dear, pardon me... )

I go back and forth-part of me wants to mute him, the other side says to listen and laugh and "know thine enemy".

I don't really blame him or even dislike him as a person-he's a politician, he's doing what they do. It's the idolatry of the media and his supporters that seriously upsets me. This is a HUMAN BEING people, he is NOT GOD.

so here's the thing...the guy works for us, not the other way around, and people seem to have forgotten that.

on that note, i know that any time i have started a new job, i have had to present i.d. and proof of citizenship before my first day on the job. this guy hasn't done that. so i say he has 30 days to unseal those documents (i want to see his school transcripts too) and after 30 days the job offer expires and the position goes to the person with the next highest number of votes.

why are we not demanding this?

The funny thing is, DH wouldn't have said a thing about her stuff if she hadn't made such a deal over his radio. Sure, he thinks she's deluded, but she's an adult and it's her choice to be deluded.

that's what is so weird...cons are so nicely mannered. we tend to not make a fuss over what we consider to be others' rights, provided it isn't trampling our own. libs, on the other hand, seem to need to police things and demolish anything which does not agree with them, regardless of the lack of impact.

We are, they're not. I'm not entirely sure he's not a US citizen but the fact that his family says he was born in Kenya is intriguing, considering they didn't know that that would prevent him from being POTUS. The point remains that he should be providing those documents.

mccain took care of his "born at the panama canal" situation immediately. bho should have too.

not only does his grandmother say he was born in kenya, but he was registered in indonesia at one school as an indonesian citizen (no dual citizenship allowed) under the name barry satoro, and same name same citizenship at another school, as a muslim. he traveled to pakistan during a time when u.s. citizens were forbidden entrance, so he must've had an indonesian passport.

i think the guy had his birth records sealed for obvious reasons, and i suspect his school records were sealed because he was a foreign student possibly receiving financial aid.

records are sealed to prevent information in those records from being seen. what's he hiding?

i don't trust the guy any further than i can throw him. i hope in two years we will be able to add to our constitution the obvious requirement of proof of natural-born citizenship.

i don't trust him.

I'm confused. It seems there are some libs giving Obama a pass on invoking the name of God because maybe he's just doing it for show. I think I would be more bothered by a person being a phony in regards to their beliefs, then just allowing them the freedom to express themselves however they choose. There was a time during all that Wright fiasco when I wondered if Obama had used the church to ingratiate himself within the community, but I had hoped that his faith was genuine. Now after reading some comments, it puzzles me why people would consider it's possibly just an acceptable sham.

i heard on the news this morning that interior alaska is -60!!!!! is there such a thing as -60??? i seriously cannot imagine that level of cold.

not only do i not believe his Christian faith is genuine, i, the skeptic, think he has chosen to be sworn in on january 20 (which includes promising to uphold the constitution, moving into a socialist governmental format, etc.) with his hand on a bible because it means nothing to him.

i'm already tired of this guy and waiting for the day he goes to live for a long time in leavenworth, ks. i have a bad feeling that he is coming very close to committing treason or something (violation of constitutional requirements to become president, moving towards socialist fundamentals, etc.).

Honestly, I've thought it was all political since the Rev Wright mess. It was just too easy for him to toss all those years aside. If he was really a committed Christian, and committed to that theology, he would have stuck with it even if it cost him the Presidency. Have you heard of him going near a church since then?? Even if he was not committed to the particular theology of Wright's church, if he was committed to Christ he would have found another church immediately.

You could have stopped at "there are some libs giving Obama a pass".

They give him a pass on everything.

I'm with loco, I might have to "mute" him during his entire Presidency. It worked for me with Clinton too loco . And for mk's idea of "know thine enemy" - I don't have to listen to the devil to know he's evil. Same rule applies with Communists - I don't have to listen to one to know it's bad
