heh heh heh.....:teeth:

Ticking someone off could get you a ticket in one Michigan city. The Brighton City Council on Thursday approved an ordinance allowing police in the Livingston County community to ticket and fine anyone who is annoying in public "by word of mouth, sign or motions."

The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell reports the measure is modeled on a similar ordinance in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak. It will go into effect on January 2.

Quote of the year!

Good times. Good times.

I do realize that someday in the near future, our children (for those of us who are "selfish" enough to hog up all that carbon by procreating) are going to look back on this time period......and refer to it as "The Age of Idiots"......

BUT, I will be able to smile....and look into their intelligent eyes and say,

"Kids, I know but I laughed at them the entire time!"

:)

Oh Mr. Man.

It's the holiday season! Tsk tsk! We're supposed to be spending quality time with our families, enjoying their company, and creating lasting memories! No negativity!

Happy Holidays, Cons!

And Mr. Man...to you...

For Christmas breakfast we have Panettone, traditional Italian sweet bread. MIL makes an icing to drizzle over the top.

In all honesty it gives me heartburn, but I eat it anyway. :rolleyes1

My mother likes to buy panettone for people every year. She always says "TELL me if you don't actually like this, because it is expensive and I don't want to waste the money if I'm just torturing you!" I love it, though. I haven't had it made into french toast but I love it toasted. We just don't think of french toast around here, because my oldest is severely allergic to eggs. She doesn't live at home anymore, but by this point it's just conditioning. It does give me a little heartburn, but I eat it anyhow.

And Mahnah...my sister sent me an email this morning of her family in the snow (I sent her pictures yesterday) and I immediately thought of you . Meet Jubiliee, my sister's dog: :goodvibes

Soarin, I'm glad you guys made it safely, and have a wonderful time!

As for me, I think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. It dumped more snow overnight and is still snowing hard. :headache: :sad2:

Just checking in before we leave tonight for Nevada. Hopefully the airlines are all back on schedule with the snow delays, etc. I'm bringing my laptop, and hopefully will have access to the internet while I'm there so I can keep in touch.

Merry Christmas everyone...:goodvibes

Just popping in to say Merry Christmas! :santa:

I saw this today about how Christmas lights are hurting the environment. I had a similar talk with my son a couple of days ago, how I bet our Government will regulate our Christmas lights in order to stop global warming.

Scientists warn Christmas lights harm the planetBy Graham Readfearn
December 24, 2008 08:06am

SCIENTISTS have warned that Christmas lights are bad for the planet due to huge electricity waste and urged people to get energy efficient festive bulbs.

CSIRO researchers said householders should know that each bulb turned on in the name of Christmas will increase emissions of greenhouse gases.

Dr Glenn Platt, who leads research on energy demand, said Australia got 80 per cent of its electricity by burning coal which pumps harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

He said: "Energy efficient bulbs, such as LEDs, and putting your Christmas lights on a timer are two very easy ways to minimise the amount of electricity you use to power your lights."

He said the nation's electricity came from "centralised carbon intensive, coal-based power stations" which were responsible for emitting over one third of Australia's greenhouse gas emissions.

Dr Platt added: "For a zero-emission Christmas light show, you may consider using solar powered lights or sourcing your electricity from verified green power suppliers."

I think I will put out a couple extra spot lights to increase my carbon footprint.:rotfl:

B-b-b-b-ut, Mr Man, Mr Obama SAID he had no contact with Gov Blago...and if he SAID it, although all evidence tells us otherwise, it MUST be true - I swear it on Lincoln's Bible [oh drats, that one is already being used....]

No, I'm not all packed yet, but I'm getting there. I guess I wasn't paying attention...I thought we left tomorrow a.m., but it is really just a little after midnight, so that's like...tonight! Glad I looked at that ticket...:thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Hey, I thought I was the only one who did stuff like that!

But I would rather leave late at night than early in the morning, especially if I had to drive a long way to the airport [you fly out of Anchorage, don't you?] - I've never done well if I had to get up early.

Just stopping by for a second. I've got tons of laundry catch up on and presents to wrap. :thumbsup2

Mr Man- I am cracking up over those photos. :rotfl:

blestmom- have a great and safe trip!

Merry Christmas!

Is this where we pick up the cleaning elf?

Merry Christmas, Everyone!!
