Ward - that card is beautiful! I have a congratulations card to my DS and us on his birth. It's so lovely.

Oh how wonderful! I'm so glad you had a good time.

Oh, I'm sure it's great. It's myself I'm worried about. Being autistic, I'm super-conscious of what I say to begin with. Pair that with being a creative writer, and a grammar geek, and you have a perfect storm of neurosis. I can guarantee you I'll be checking this post up and down before I post it.
EH, I wouldn't worry about it. None of us care about anyone's grammar - at least not in this thread. :)

I kid, I kid. I am determined to break stereotypes. Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go oppress some minorities and hoist my 12' by 8' American flag on the 50' pole in my lawn. ;)
Make sure you shine a light on it at all times. ;)

Ha- this is exactly what MM said earlier, when she was at the dealership:

[from ABC no less --http://blogs.abcnews.com/thenote/2008/12/words-matter-pa.html]
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!! I honestly thought, "I must be pretty dumb, because this guy really isn't saying anything other than he's going around in circles." Glad I'm not the only person who saw this.

ACK!! Can you do us all a favor, though? When you're done with your winter storm can you push it back into the pacific and make it go away? We've already had three of those things and I'm DONE! (and it isn't even offically winter!)

Pay raises.. yeah, just what congress needs. We're all worried about keeping a job, period, and they're worried about how much extra they'll get!

I'm such a confused CON lately!

In other random thoughts. Anyone know why the libs are in such glee over Palin's daughter's boyfriend's mom? We keep BO's children off limits, as they should be, and they're after a kid's boyfriend's mom!
Who knows if this lady is even a Republican? She could be Democrat for all we know and she could absolutely HATE Palin. Why this is a big deal, I just don't get.

Pay raises - do we get one too? I'd love a pay raise (and I also do "nothing" all day).:rotfl2:

OT, but I never knew the DIS had so many armchair psychologists, psychiatrists, and counselors on here! By golly, then we probably need a whole other forum for all of these folks! I was reading a thread earlier where oodles of people are telling the OP that she has deep psychological problems, needs therapy, etc. based on a couple posts she made about something she's struggling with. Nothing life-threatening, nothing totally out there. Nice to know they are all so qualified to make a diagnosis and to tell someone they've never met they have to go into therapy and if not, they're living in denial. I am trained to diagnose people with disorders, and any idiot professor will tell you that you can't diagnose a person based on a post on the internet. I mean, come on! These people are not qualified to diagnose her with anything, nor can they even know based on a couple of posts that she needs therapy. Absolutely absurd. Only people around her and her doctors would know that.

I was quite tempted to ask these people if they know what a DSM-IV-TR is, and if they're trained to use it. :headache:
So SD, I have this problem....:rotfl:

What makes Costco cakes so good?
They're AWESOME!!!!

shocking news: our liberal california attorney general, jerry brown, (you may remember him as a former boyfriend of linda ronstadt) has filed papers with our state supreme court for a "review" of prop. 8 opposition filings.

i would like to say, for the record, that we have voted on this issue twice here: the first was a mere statute, the last vote was to amend the state constitution. we voted the same way twice. it is disgraceful to now suggest that the measure was not constitutional (check that BEFORE putting it on the balot!) or that we the people are too stupid to know what we're doing.

[heavy sigh...tired of this...]
Cough...cough...fraud...cough

Funny, being a singleton, I had thought, in the past, - wouldn't it be great to have a husband to do the hard stuff? Fix the car? Mow the lawn? Carry furniture? Now I see that most of my married friends do that kind of thing themselves - either their husbands travel or they'd just rather do it themselves.
I just do it myself. So much easier, though I did notice the address (our numbers for our house) that I asked DH to put up a few years ago got hung today.

I'm going to lay down a bit. I think I over did it today, and I still need to cook treats in a while. I can't put it off because I still have a broccoli salad and deviled eggs to make before Christmas Eve and I have to work Monday and Tuesday. At least I am done shopping and got the cards mailed, but I still need to wrap presents too. The Fibro is rearing it's ugly head. I'll be back on later!
I am so sorry about the Fibro. I have a friend of mine who has it and she is in pain frequently. I am so sorry about that.

Subscribing... I always have trouble keeping up but I do love to check into this wonderful, friendly safe-haven periodically. :goodvibes
Welcome!!!! (Yeah, it's hard to keep up, so just join in on the last page).

I am skipping church this evening because I have too much to do. Hmm, what is wrong with this picture? Too busy getting ready for Christmas to go to church is not my best moment in life!
Can you go tomorrow morning? We'll be going tomorrow morning and we are kind of forced to go because my DS is having a friend spend the night and I promised his mom that I'd have him at church tomorrow to meet up with the family.

Hello everyone! I haven't been around much with work and Christmas shopping and getting ready for the whole family to decend upon my house on Tuesday. But I thought I'd stop in and say hi.

Now I have to get back to wrapping gifts...
I'll be joining you in a few.

first time here. feels nice and homey.
Welcome!!!! Visit often - we're pretty nice people.

You're welcome. :thumbsup2 I had one measly little chicken taco from Taco Bell tonight so I'm starving!!!!!popcorn::

And that was my 2200th post, since I'm a fanatic about keeping track. :lmao: It's the OCD, I know it is.....
LOL - you're adorable. Taco Bell sounds good right now, but my belly doesn't care for it much.

Updating in next post. Got lots to tell you all...

Oh I wasn't adorable to my mom when I said I wanted to eat at Chick-Fil-A.:lmao: My dad made her mad too when he started griping about eating at Taco Bell. So the main rule in our house is don't P.O. my mom and you survive.;)

Ooooo!!!! I wanna hear EVERYTHING!!!!

Okay - I did something today that I have never done. I told off a customer of mine.

Long story short, she has used me, I have been nothing but kind to her, I have bent over backwards to please her, I have donated over $400 to her sister (cancer), I have given her tons of products to give away for her scrapbooking crops and she has stolen many of my customers from me and sent them to another consultant (that was confirmed today - I just thought these people weren't scrapbooking anymore, but they were buying from another consultant using her consultant discount). I'm going to sound bad, but I don't work so hard for free. Just like she doesn't work for free, I don't work for free either. The reason why I was a consultant is because I needed some money - not so I could "spread the wealth" working my BUTT off so she could get a discount (and you know how much money I made last year? $250.00 - seriously. My first few years doing this, I cleared between $20,000-$30,000 and it's gone down hill because of the economy and my move (and this chick)).

Today I heard that she was telling people I was ripping her off by charging double what she really owed and that people should go to another consultant who gives everyone their consultant discount. I double-checked her order and found that I did overcharge her by $1.67. I would have caught it anyway and I DEFINITELY would have called her (Catholic guilt). So I called her to apologize for overcharging her, that it was a mistake, and if she would have just called me instead of telling everyone else about it that I would have gladly refunded her the money. She then tried to change the subject about how adorable my kids were. Whatever. I ended the conversation wishing her a Merry Christmas and told her that I was so glad I'm going out of business because of this kind of crap people deal me.

Yes, I actually said that!!

It's going to bite me HUGE in the butt. I shouldn't have said anything and just bit my tongue, but this gal has had some kind of problem with me since the day she met me. I know you all don't know me personally, but I get along with everyone and my DH thinks that's why I'm a target. Who knows. I do know that she caused a consultant on my team to go out of business and now it's my turn. Grrrr....

So, I'm ready for the backlash. It will come soon. She's vindictive like that...

(so much for a long story short, eh?)

Nice new thread Michelle! :thumbsup2 I love the name! :)

Welcome :wave2: You'll find this thread moves very fast so just dive right in like the rest of us. We're a friendly bunch!

And I was going to ask you to explain your tag's origins, but I think I shall pass. :rotfl2:

:rotfl:

Well I'll get started since Breezy hasn't popped in yet-

And some tiramisu to finish us off...

Yummmm, tiramisu! Thanks Soarin'!!! BTW, I love your new avatar too!

I know my post above doesn't make sense, but I don't feel like editing it. This gal was a scrapbooking customer of mine who started a group where she shares coupons, discounts online for other scrapbooking companies. She secretly went through my customers at one of my crops and got their email addresses and sends them emails for discounted scrapbooking supplies. When she started this, my business stopped with the exception of a few very loyal friends. I realized today that what she really was doing was sending them to another consultant where they could purchase their products for 30% off (consultant price). This is a HUGE ethical no no in our company and has not only undermined me, but all of the other consultants with my company in our area. She also did this to the scrapbook store - and I'm sure it hurt them more than it hurt me as I don't have overhead.

Okay, done venting. :)

Ummm... may I say GOOD FOR YOU!!:thumbsup2 She's had that coming, I'm afraid. She doesn't sound like a very nice person. I actually said something similar TO MY BOSS (long story, I'll maybe share someday) and it shut her up in an instant (she's a witch with a capital B anyway) and she since has been rather butt-kissy to me.

Taco Bell gives me gas. :)
:rotfl2: It honestly doesn't agree well with me either. But my mom likes it because it's cheap.
Yummmm, tiramisu! Thanks Soarin'!!! BTW, I love your new avatar too!
Well it took awhile but I think this avatar's a keeper.....:lmao: I'm totally Beck-ing out the signature after I remove the Christmas stuff, just wait....:dance3:

Okay - I did something today that I have never done. I told off a customer of mine.

MM, that is horrible what that person has done to you! I truly believe that she will get what's coming to her (what's the saying - what goes around, comes around?) Good for you for sticking up for yourself.

 to you for what you are going through right now.

I see we have a new home :) Thanks for that link Humphrey Bear, I'm ordering my copy shortly. I'll spring the 25.00 it is worth it.

Glenn's first book is different from his second. I think it will tell you more about who he is. The one last year (An Inconvenient Truth) is more about the world we live in. Both are fantastic. Of course we have them both :lmao: I have the Unelectable DVD from this summer as well, and I'm thinking I need to get the past christmas shows. I don't know if there is a dvd from his summer 2007 show but it was hilarious. We saw him in San Antonio for that tour.

DD10 and I had a "project" to do this morning. There was a thread here about a week ago with a cute idea on it so we decided to give it a try....sorry for the crappy picture but I'm not a photographer and my batteries were dying so I had to snap it quick...these are just hershey candy bars parading as snowmen :D We made about 20 of them while watching a movie earlier today:

 I can't explain why some people in this world are like that. :sad2:

You're a good person. And what goes around comes around MM.

I'm not allowed to eat Taco Bell when DH is home. I'll leave it at that.

Well I happen to love the bean burritos, of course. :rolleyes1

Well I'm on the hunt for both of Glenn's books prior to The Christmas Sweater.... that means running to Books-A-Million Monday (I'll have a convenient excuse, then show up with new books that my mom will instantly steal since she likes Glenn too). I'd love to see Unelectable. The Christmas Sweater show blew me away.... I'm trying to get my DDad and DSis16 to read it with no success....:sad2:

Those are ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes How exactly does one go about making those? My mom is gonna freak when I show her!

OK, so here's one for ya. I posted earlier about getting the tree inside because we finally found the tree stand. Well, the tree is still outside because it's too tall for our family room! :confused3 Now you know what my DH has in his sights? Yup - the hacksaw!:scared1: Heaven knows what my Christmas tree is going to look like tomorrow. :sad2:

That's what I get for being sick and sending DH alone to pick out a tree. I should have known better. The last time I sent him out without me, he went with our DD when she was a teenager (she's 28 now) and we were living in house that could accomodate a big tree. They came home with a blue spruce so big, it took 3 neighbors to help bring it in. It also came equipped with a bird's nest (minus the birds thankfully!)

Oh, guess what? I got "The Christmas Sweater" today from Sam's club (no Costco here) for $11.88! Yay! I'll read it after Christmas.

NO NO NO!!! Read it NOW!! I bought it at Wal-Mart and immediately started reading it the second I got home.... finished it in one sitting and have begun it again. Trust me, that book cannot wait to be read. It must be read the split second you fork over the money for it and it becomes yours.

PM me your email address and I'll send you the "face" image....I just printed off the face image, wrapped the candy bar with it, the cut a 6 inch square of felt (I eyeballed the size) for the hat, and a 1/2 inch strip about 8 inches long for the scarf. Fold up the end of the felt square for the cuff of the hat, wrap around the candy bar and hot glued it closed. Then I used the curling ribbon to tie the hat. I used 2 pieces of ribbon about 12 inches long. For the scarf I wrapped it around, then folded the underneath end diagonal so it would hang down, and glued that fold down, then glued the top end in place over the other one, then fringed the ends with scissors. Took us about an hour to make 20 but we were watching a movie at the same time so we could have worked faster I'm sure...

Try amazon for Glenn's other books. You'll find a better price. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=glenn+beck&x=0&y=0

I'm not allowed to eat Taco Bell when DH is home. I'll leave it at that.

:rotfl2:

Thanks to you guys for the kind words on the Fibro. I am so lucky that mine is not as bad as some people suffer through. The weather changes make it worse to me.

Anyway, all I've done since I got up is make the peppermint bark and taco soup for tomorrow. Maybe I'll get around to one batch of fudge tonight, but I'm dragging so maybe not :rolleyes1
