I love Rush Limbaugh!!!:lovestruc Sean Hannity too:love:  Listen to them every chance I get. Just felt the need to say that, LOL.;)

Obama's very much a "Do as I say not Do as I do" type of person. Rules - and his rules - apply to all except him.

Oh, I absolutely agree with this! It is going to be fun watching others figure this out about him and watch them become disillusioned with "the One". Once he gets into office, he is going to do so many things worthy of criticism. We're going to have to pace ourselves. :rotfl:

He shouldn't do a big bash but give some of that money to homeless shelters - or something - nationwide.

I was thinking the same thing.

Wow...it's colder in upstate NY than in Alaska! That's kind of funny. Our high today was supposed to be 15 or something like that. And tomorrow is supposed to be colder.

I think we sent our cold weather down your way. I'm sorry...

i sit here and think about what you deal with and it is absolutely amazing to me.:scared1:

I like the cold and winter and snow...I'm a native Minnesotan :goodvibes

Salutations, greetings, and "hey there hi there ho there" my conservative friends!

It seems that I've been out of the DIS loop for a couple of weeks, but much has transpired...
- I had an absolutely phenomenal 4 days of learning and fun in Orlando, which I must find some time to explain some details about
- Dems hypocrisy level is now at "code orange" (Inauguration costs? Cabinet members employing illegals? What is this... W's third term!!?? :lmao: )
- My beloved Carolina Panthers laid a giant egg
- I booked a family WDW vacation for May using the "buy 4/get 7" incentive. We'll be staying at POFQ, which I know zero about but I'm sure it'll be great. :goodvibes

First of all...FIVE more days until I see my husband. :cool1: .

WOOO HOOOO! I know you're excited!

Hey everyone! I am THRILLED to have found the conservative/Republican thread! It seems like we are in the minority these days, but the truth is we're usually just quiet so we're not slammed all the time about Bush, the war, etc.

A little about me, at 21 this was the first Presidential election I was able to vote in. I also became very heavily involved as a volunteer, and am continuing my work by being a member of our county's Republican Executive Committee and starting a youth outreach program for teens to educate them about the truth of our party and what it stands for (tax hating, gun toting, god loving Republicans! J/K we talk history, policy, etc :) ). I have been married for 2 1/2 years and we're thinking about starting a family next year...and I don't want my kids to grow up in a socialist society.

I am frankly afraid of what will conspire in the next 2 years. I say 2 because in 2010 the GOP is going to kick some donkey in the Senate elections when everyone realizes just what "civilian militia" and "share the wealth" really means.

That article about the ammunition is scary and stupid for several reasons. Scary: they are essentially removing our right to protect ourselves, not to mention the ammunition that needs to be destroyed? How will they find that? Oh, wait, yeah that civilian militia Obama wants...Stupid: Um, bullets usually don't make it out of a person in pristine condition, they are flattened. How are they going to get these little numbers off them? Someone could steal you're specially coded ammo. Criminals aren't getting the guns they use legally. Do they think they are buying the ammo at their local Wal Mart? Get real.

So...on the lighter side I have two cats and a dog, like to scrapbook, craft and crochet, love all things Disney and go to WDW roughly once a month. I work at a bank and like to just hang out with my hubby.

Welcome! I married early/kids early too and after a century... ok, a few years more than two decades, we're still happy, conservative, and married! I totally agree with your consensus on the ammo issue.

Thanks for the info. I've written both my state rep and senator voicing my opposition to this bill.
My state isn't listed, but I've forwarded that info to DH so he can get it across all the hunting/gun forums he posts on.

Yes, yes, I admit it- he's my boyfriend. ;) I've gone public with that info now.

:goodvibes
Now you don't have to hide when you're with him in public! :)

Um, well, I was declared Queen of the Universe since we decided that Evil Conservative Overlord was already taken by Pres. Bush. I levitated my toaster but only by .0008 inches. My fingernails grew and I can run backwards but skip forwards unless the moon is waxing it's legs.

LMAO

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

She's doing pretty good. She's recovered well from that surgery last Wednesday. They haven't called with the final results though, so we're thinking they'll just tell her at her appointment next week. I'm praying the initial results that said non-cancerous were right. Trying not to think about it too much. She had her MRI yesterday and some other test called Gamma something or other... I've never heard of it before. She gets those results next week too. Met with the chemo doctor last week, and he also doubts she'll need it (only if something extra shows up in all these other tests, which they don't expect). The (hopefully) last surgery to actually remove the problem area is next Friday. She's very much looking forward to that because she says then, even though she'll at least have radiation, the actual cancer that they see will be gone. I'll be so happy when it's gotten rid of too.

One thing I forgot to tell y'all last week was when she was in the room before they knocked her out for the surgery, a nurse came in and told my mom they were going to get her all ready to have a tube put down her throat. There was another woman there with the same last name getting throat surgery, and they had mixed up the darned it all charts. My mom was not happy, and neither was my dad (or me, when I was told about it). Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. And frankly that scares me to death if I ever have to have any kind of surgery at all. Wake up and they've done something to you that you didn't need? Hello, lawsuit.
Scary!!! I'm so glad this was caught before major damage could have been done!

Not really much to say today, but trying to keep this from the second page as well...

The temp is 38 above...that is a big improvement from last week's 30 below. But today everything is closed due to ice.

Those sub-zero temps really make a mess of things. It was so cold, there was some ice build up in the frame of my minivan, and yesterday, since it was so warm, it was melting that ice, and dripping inside. Weird...

I had a minivan years ago with a moon roof. The moon roof leaked, but where the water came in I didn't realize it was the roof leaking. I thought it was the windshield area!

Our high was 11 today. WOOO HOOOO ELEVEN! Will you please take your cold air back? It was -16 early this morning and its going to be -10 tonight... I have no idea what the wind chills will be. please... please... I beg you... take your weather back?! :)

I got a memo today that Tuesday is dress up like you're going to a very important party day so we all can celebrate the Inauguration of BO as the best event that has ever happened.

hmmmm

ummmmm

:confused3

That's all I have to say about that.

I'm going to puke. There was just a very loud commercial that said
1.20.09 in huge letters and had bho's voice yapping something about hope and change and french fries and donkey hair and pine-less pine trees and vampire bats.

Do you think there is any possibility BO would actually be too busy doing something that he will not be yapping on TV everyday after the coronation?

Come to think about it - Maybe it is better if he yaps and does nothing.

Look at this CRAP I found. :headache: What is wrong with people?!

I apologize in advance for posting this.

Saw this earlier......

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/jan/14/barack-obama-inauguration-cost

Obama's inauguration set to be the most expensive in US history

The $150m (£102m) cost of the celebration will dwarf the amount spent on George Bush's inauguration in 2005

Yes, it will dwarf (hey they said it, I can say it) GWB's last by nearly 4 times.

Sounds like quite a party....

Not very "Lincoln-esque" though.....but very "spendy".

I'm shocked that not only is Obama allowing such excess when his fellow Americans are hurting in these troublesome times, but that his fans aren't chastising him as well.:rolleyes1

- Please find the time quickly to expand on your "phenomenal 4 days".
- See my above comments.
- That was humiliating.
- It's my favorite moderate. I love the intimate feeling of that resort, and the boat to DTD is fun.

I really am sorry. I'd say the cold weather is welcome to return to Alaska say, around, oh...Jan. 25th (when I leave for Disney) but I'm already feeling so guilty about leaving my DH and two DS's behind that I can't wish that cold back on them. Hang in there...

That is just disturbing.

No kidding! And I thought all those collector's plates advertised on tv were disturbing enough. Sheeesh. Cult of celebrity anyone?
Yup. Star power got him elected. That and some other words that start with "s" that I won't say on here. :rotfl:
