EEEK! Yes, please stay off the winding road. I need to go in to the eye doctor, so I'll probably just have to hop the bus. It's not too far, but far enough that I can't walk there.

They canceled school up here for tomorrow, so it's going to be nasty again! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Curses on those who wished for a white Christmas! May you fall in a snow drift and flounder around like the kid on A Christmas Story!

I'm really uptight right now. I'm waiting on test results and waiting for the neurosurgeon to review my MRI films, so I guess I'm not much in the holiday spirit right now. Everybody think good thoughts that I'll hear from the surgeon by Christmas and also get my test results. I really need some good news. I really want Santa to bring my full diagnosis of Cushing's Disease so I can go to surgery to have my tumor removed. That's all I want. I don't want presents, just bring me that diagnosis. Please.

Aww, I hope you get your results a.s.a.p. Waiting is the worst.
Okay...now let's see if I can start a singalong. I let Max out to do his business, and he took his time getting back. I was standing at the back door clapping my hands, and yelled "Come on Old Man, it's cold outside!" And suddenly I found myself singing...

"I really can't staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay (But baby it's cold outside)"

And by the way, my dog thinks I'm nuts. :lmao:
Lol, now I'm going to have that song in my head. :rotfl:

I ended up going to see Glenn Beck tonight. I thought there would be more people, so I got there super early. No worries, though. The play was wonderful and very touching. I get what you all mean about some of the singing, though. I wish I would have taken my sister. I think she would have really enjoyed it.

Well, that settles it. You go on vacation, come be adopted by us, I travel with you to supervise and maybe even make sure that everything in the parks, including the food, are as they should be. I want your Disney experience to be truly magical so I must do everything in my power to assist.

Ok well as of right now, I'm your daughter. We both get benefits.:cool1:

I'm all worried now because I've seen several people posting about Norwalk at WDW. I had a run-in (or walk-in, I guess I should say:lmao: ) with Norwalk last month and..... I had diarrhea every twenty minutes for six hours!!!!!!! I hadn't eaten since 4pm the previous day or otherwise my roomie would've been running for the door :scared1: . I dry heaved and my head pounded and my stomach cramped and I was miserable for 12 hours straight. I cannot repeat this experience at Christmas! And my sis had food poisoning last week and we all know what that entails.... my mom had the stomach bug earlier this year and we DO NOT need to get it at WDW!!! I'm freaking out!!!!!! It might sound silly but prayers to keep us well and out of harm's way (and that those who are ill are quickly better) would be appreciated.:flower3: We've been planning this for six months and don't want it all to go down the toilet (no pun intended).

Thanks! I really appreciate it.

All that's why I've been on the uptight, grumpy side lately. The waiting is soooo hard.
 I'm praying for you. I'm not much in the Christmas mood myself either, worrying about my family member's testing and later the results. It's not easy.

 I remember last month when you said you'd been sick, but yikes! I've never even heard of that bug. I sure hope that isn't infecting folks here in VA. If so, I'll undoubtedly catch it. :sad2:

I'll pray for y'all. Back in May for my highly anticipated graduation trip, my mom got sick halfway through it and couldn't leave the room for the better part of 3 days. On the last day when she finally could be out for hours at a time, she couldn't ride anything. Still too sick to do so. She couldn't even do the Flag Family routine at WL on our departure day. It was very disappointing, and I felt horrible leaving her to go to the parks and Sea World. But she said she'd have felt worse if I hadn't gone, so I reluctantly went. Wasn't the same though. I've never been to the parks without my mom (and my dad). It's always been a family vacation for us.

Alright, night for real all. :wizard:

Thanks SD! I really appreciate it. I hope your family member's tests come out OK. When will you know the results? I hope soon. I hope you don't have to wait until after the holidays.

Thanks! Waiting is the worst thing. I think it should be listed under cruel and unusual punishments. :rotfl2:

Sadly not until after Christmas, or maybe not until after New Year's. Testing will be done the 23rd, and results probably won't be back until the 29th due to Christmas, and then they have to make an appointment to discuss the results. She was lucky though; she got one of the last two testing appointments they had. A bunch of other people there the same day couldn't get scheduled for testing until the end of January, I believe. :sad2: That'd drive me crazy.

Hopefully both of us will have good news soon.

Thanks for the prayers guys. I just sent up the ones I always say for y'all. :)

I need to get some sleep..... I have to go to the dry cleaners tomorrow after getting my sis at school at 9:30am after exams and get my North Face jacket.... ask me tomorrow why my jacket is being dry cleaned. We'll leave it at I'm an idiot and ALWAYS check your pockets before laundering anything!

So g'night my dear friends! :grouphug:

:wizard: That's rough. Wow. I'd be a nervous wreck through Christmas, but maybe the holiday will be a good distraction? I'll pray for good news for you.   :donald: :donald: :donald:

Fortunately, I can read my own results and interpret them without the doctor (that's when you know you've been doing these type of tests wayyyyyyyy too long!), now if only the lab would give them to me! Dang HIPAA (that had to be a liberal invention, no conservative in their right mind would come up with something so ridiculously stupid!). My own samples, my own tests ordered by my doctor, but I'm not allowed to have my own results. Now is that whacked or what?

My tests allow me to know which symptoms to test during to prove I have Cushing's Disease (it's a rare, very complicated disease) so it's important for me to get the results as soon as possible, but the lab wants me to go through my doctor, who has a very abnormal practice. He's a prof at a med school in LA and a researcher, he only has his private practice open one night a week, on Wednesdays and phone/email consults on Sundays. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Soooo, getting anything from them is a hassle, but he's the cat's meow for my disease, so I have to make do.

I can do this... Just keep swimming! Just keep swimming!:fish:

I was going to bed..... till I saw that!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You went!!!!!!!!!! OMG I am so glad!!!!!!!  Do you realize you just made my DAY?????:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Well been doing some reading on Norwalk.... turns out if you've had it then there's around a 14 week immunity period in which your chances of getting it again are a lot less. Well I had it four weeks ago so there's good news.:thumbsup2 I'll just be going to Wal-Mart and clearing out the Lysol aisle tomorrow.

Ok, TO BED for real this time!!:rotfl:

I just finished baking up another 20 mini loaves of Amish bread. Bad thing about baking at midnight is that little people with big noses come running in the kitchen saying "We smell Amish bread! Can we have some?" At midnight? Uhhhhh......NO! LOL

What's Amish bread?

Amish friendship bread. I just keep leaving the "friendship" part off when I type it. It is a live culture bread from a starter that sits on your counter and grows and ferments (and gets fed once) for ten days before you divide it and bake with it. It's very delicious. It's a dense sweetbread. I made chocolate and cinnamon. My kids LOVE the stuff. Actually, I think everyone that has tried it loved it. We went through six loaves of it at our Christmas party last weekend. The last two were frozen when I sliced them and laid them on the plate. I don't think the partygoers even waited for them to thaw out before they inhaled them.

You are supposed to divide it and give away four starters, baking with the last of the batter. I've given away a few, but I've just baked most of it and stuck it in the freezer. I'll give a bunch of it away for Christmas gifts (if I ever get out of my driveway again...) and my kids will more than happily eat the rest. Sooner or later I'll get sick of baking it every ten days and either give the last of the starters away or let the culture die. Someone will give me another one someday.

Thanks! I really appreciate it.

All that's why I've been on the uptight, grumpy side lately. The waiting is soooo hard.

And, because of the weather, being stuck inside your house, having the cold-weather-aggravated asthma to contend, you haven't had many distractions either. I'm sorry you're having to go through all of this - I'll be praying. Please keep us posted...

I did that with sourdough bread - had the starter in the refrigerator and I had to either bake some bread or throw away a cup of the starter every week. I think I lasted a year or so - I hated throwing the starter away but if I had to look at another sourdough loaf again, blek....that must be why I'm not that crazy about the stuff even now.

But cinnamon Amish friendship bread....that does sound promising....but only after I make mkingdomlovr's cinnamon bread first [less of a commitment on that one]

Hmmmmm, sounds yummy! I may have to bake some one of these days.

Thanks! You're so right on that, you can only watch so much TV before you start to go nutso! This is the worst time of the day for me too. Cushing's Disease flips your diurnal rhythm so when y'all are going to sleep, I'm just getting started, so I spend many hours late at night wishing there were people up to talk to! :worship: Last night I was up until 7 am before I went to sleep... The second I know something, I'll let you guys know.

You can keep sourdough starter in the fridge? The cold kills the Amish bread starter. You have to leave it out on the counter.

I love sourdough bread...you're a trooper lasting a year, though. I think the longest I've kept an Amish Friendship bread culture alive was about three months. I've had this one going for about a month.

I'd send both of you a loaf of the bread if I could get out of my driveway to do it...:upsidedow Well actually, I could get out of my driveway easily enough. Just not too sure I'd make it to the top of the hill on my road. LOL

Sign me up for cinnamon! Mmm, good! I wish I could get out of my driveway as well. That would be really nice.

Just when I thought Coleman had actually pulled it out...

Sen. Norm Coleman saw his lead over Al Franken in Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race dwindle to just two votes Thursday. Meanwhile, a key court ruling put hundreds of improperly rejected ballots in play and promised the recount would drag into the new year…

Coleman’s lead eroded all day Thursday as the Canvassing Board considered a pile of challenges brought entirely by the Coleman campaign. The pile included a big chunk of withdrawn challenges, many of which went quickly to Franken’s column.

Mine's downhill. Getting out is no problem. :lmao: Stopping at the bottom might be an issue...

BTW, I'm a night owl so I'm usually around late at night. ;) I'm usually hanging around until at least 1 or 2 in the morning, sometimes as late as 3 or 4. I try not to stay up that late, though, since my kids wake me up in the morning.

Ha ha ha ha ha, yes, stopping is a problem at the bottom of my hill as well. I can't believe they canceled school tomorrow as well.

Wow, I can't imagine being up until 3 or 4 and then having to get up with kids. That's amazing! It's nice to know there's at least one night owl around to talk to. :thumbsup2 :cool1: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cloud9:  :worship: :cheer2:
