Hey Zip, that's not a mickey bar! I didn't know WDW sold anything besides Mickey Bars. :mickeybar

:goodvibes That's a pic from one of our recent Myrtle Beach vacations. IIRC it was so hot that day that the ice ceam melted faster than I could eat it. Darn near soiled my train whistle!

Oh man I hope that tag fairy is around. :lmao: :rotfl:

Saxsoon, what's your major? You must've worked incredibly hard for that 4.0! I graduated high school with a 4.2 but I doubt I'll get that in college!

/
aw come on, we've pretty much ALL had points over the last 4 months....think of it as an "initiation" :lmao:
Not I. :snooty: Never gotten any points. And I was also one of those oft-maligned children in school who never got a demerit or detention once. I am a perfect little angel at all times.

:rolleyes1 :lmao:

Oh goodness... now you've put the pressure on me. I admitted right up front that my feelings were purely selfish.

I'm not generally a selfish person, but I do have my infantile moments when I like everything to go just my way. :sad2: I'm sure no one else is like that at all.
I am generally this way when it comes to WDW trips. I have my plan, I have my itinerary, and I do not like straying from either.

My best friend and I used to talk a lot about going to WDW together someday. She's still never been. But that was before I became a planner. Now I don't know if she'd still be calling me her best friend at the end of the trip. :rotfl2:

I agree with the others who said explain you go gangbusters in the parks, and that he may well not want to tour that way. Making it OK ahead of time not to have to be touring buddies all the time should offset some things and give you some funtime alone in the parks.

Hi guys
thanks for the continued prayers. I don't go back to the DR until Thursday.
I'm still having weird symptoms, but am teffified that the DR will think it's all in my head,
I've been busy. I made those rolo pretzel thingies and the M&M ones.
I also baked 2 batches of brownies,
At the same time, I made a doubale batch ot beef stew and a doubale batch of chicken soup with rice and also a big pork chop dinner.
If anyone is local we are having a HUGE sale at DISNEY
All t-shirts, coffee mugs, beach towels and baseball caps are 40% off
Christmas ornaments and hats and tree skirts are 50% off
We were a little busy at work today because of the sale
Oh and we are having great weather here
We have all the windows in the house open and the fresh air feels awesome
Hope all is well
SD continued prayers
mrsdon, thanks for the prayers. I'm still praying for you, too.

I was talking to a friend from Massachusetts who said that some people are annoyed by the Caroline Kennedy senate run because she is obviously using her family connections and they can't believe people even try to deny that. I guess the word is that Uncle Teddy made a deal with Obama. Also, she has made it a point to always go by her married name, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, but will now drop that and just use Kennedy. If she is appointed, and then re-elected in 2010, well then so be it. But it really is silly for people to pretend that her family connections aren't playing a big role in all of this.
There had been rumblings maybe a year or so ago that she and her husband were getting separated, so that could be the name change. I don't know, since I haven't heard anything about that in awhile.

Seems like a nice lady, but I don't like people skating by on their name. She has no elected political experience whatsoever. And I'm sorry but being in "the family" doesn't count, IMO.

Ooo.... Obama picks a Chicago insider for Sec Of Ed.
:sad2:

That's another thing, how great of a record does this person has? What have they done that's so great to get picked just because they are from Chicago?
Chicago is one of the worst public school districts in the country. He's been there 7 years, I believe. I know some things are beyond an SI's control, but must we really appoint a man in charge of a failing school district? It's so stupid when there are plenty of other SIs in this country who have turned around failing school systems over a period of time. But they're not from Chicago, so they don't count I guess.

Global warming my butt!! I'm freezing. It's going to snow again tonight, plus all the ice.

Right now I'm waiting to adopt a woolly mammoth from the Humane Society! He just needs to be microchipped and neutered. :lmao:
:rotfl:

Guess what I'm going to see tomorrow night? :teeth:

And I am SO EXCITED!!!!!!
Have a great time!

Zip, I feel almost in the same predicament -- I'm going for the first time this January with good friends who are excited about going but have not been converted to the true Disney obsession that I have since being introduced to these boards. So, I don't really think about this as my first time - I'll be saying things like 'hey, where's the orange smell on Soarin'?' and embarrassing my peeps to death.

Another problem is that at least one is not as hip into the planning aspect of the trip - he just wants to fly by the seat so to speak - and who am I to tell him otherwise? :teeth: So I'm happy to let him 'fly' but me - I'm going full tilt all the way, with my planned schedule. And I do plan, if no one else goes with me, to be that single rider in the Dumbo line. I  Dumbo, even though I've never been to WDW!

Yet another problem is just how fond I am of my con thread buds. And blestmom [Debbie #3], mrsdon [Debbie #4], and Soarin and now you will be at WDW the same time I will be. I probably won't get to bug Soarin and Mrsdon as much as I'd like, being that they will be working but blestmom and her kids better watch out! You'll be able to spot them pretty easily - they'll be the ones who are hiding behind anything they can find to avoid me and I'll be the one yelling, 'DDDDEEEEEEBBBBBBIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE, where are you? Don't you want to go on Expedition Everest again? You're not avoiding me, are you?!?!?!?' :teeth:

And, now, I'll know to look for the single rider 40something at the Haunted Mansion - ZZZZZZZZIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPPPPPPP, is that you?!?!?!?!?!?!?

My friends and I will have 'the talk' before our trip -- the talk that says that, since we all paid dearly to go on this trip, we can experience Disney however we wish. If those experiences don't collide, so be it - if they don't want to go commando with me, that's fine but don't tread on me, suckas!

So all that to say, I don't blame you for being disappointed - a best friend can be a poophead, too. Maybe y'all can have 'the talk' as a warning beforehand - so, if he does decide to go, he'll know that when you say Disney, you mean Disney. It could either scare him away or, like Breezy so sweetly pointed out, change his whole perspective.
blestmom, it sounds like you have a potential stalker on your hands!

:rotfl: J/K, debbieandroo. ;)

ZIP - you mean you don't look like Chevy Chase??!?!?!
Zip, this is what I thought too, to tell the truth! :lmao:

I think I just got a 4.0 this semester at A&M. I am extremely relieved.:teacher:
Congratulations! I can imagine the work that went into that. Way to go! :yay:

SD!!!! Good to see you here! I hope you're getting those prayers I keep sending your way. :goodvibes

Mechanical Engineering, but here at A&M incoming engineers either take an Algebra class or a Calculus class. I took this test that took in to account my SAT (670 MATH) and the test for A&M. It had been a long time since I had covered the material and I didn't do so well. I was given the choice which math to go into and I opted for the Algebra so I could get the basics again. I am glad I did because I did not grasp all of the Algebra the first time around and I realize most of my problems in Cal were in the Algebra, not the actual Calculus.

Besides that I took Chem for engineers, an engineering graphics course, Concert Band, and Comparative Government. It was not that difficult of a semester, but the Chem and C.G. were enough to get me studying more than I ever had in high school. Instead of studying the night before and right before the test, I was having to prepare days if not a whole week before the test. It did not help there were not throw away grades to bring up my GPA like in high school.

When I first saw the C.G. it said Texas Government. I found out it was actually a comparative government course on the States and Federal government. It was a fascinating course and I learned more about our government than I had learned in my national government in High School. After the second test, I realized I needed 2 95's to get an A in the course, and I ended up getting a 95 and a 96. It was nuts.

Sad to say that I have not had any points either.:rotfl:

It partially relies on the fact that I have stopped myself from posting many times, while not necessarily demerit worthy, it would cause arguments that I would rather not get into. At least 100 times I have started posting then went back thinking it was probably not wise to do so. However, that religious thread of P.D.'s got me a little riled up and caused me to post something at the beginning that I kind of regret posting. It may not seem like much to a lot of people, but it bothered me afterward. But, I think it needed to be said.

Yet another recipe -- these are pretty yummy and, best of all, easy to make...

SALTINE CRACKER TOFFEE

Saltines (crackers) - 1-1/2 sleeves, enough to cover a jelly roll pan so that crackers are touching each other
2-1/2 sticks butter
3 c. brown sugar
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips

Lay crackers side by side in 10"x15" jelly roll pan (cookie sheet with edge).

Bring butter and sugar to boil and continue boiling until soft ball stage.

Pour toffee over crackers. Bake in 400 degree oven for 5 to 7 minutes. Watch carefully so doesn't burn.

Sprinkle chips over toffee/crackers and return to oven for 30 seconds to melt. Spread with spatula. Decorate with seasonal sugars. Cool to set and harden. Crack and enjoy.

Note: The size of the cookie sheet isn't as important as the fact that it does have to have an edge. Then you can adjust the rest of the amounts.

and yes to no points either....mainly because I don't have the debating skills or the tough skin to wrangle on the CB. I pop in occasionally but never say anything exciting enough to get points.

But, maybe one of these days....a girl can dream, can't she? ;)

Hey, I just found this thread and I like it. Talking with like-minds is a nice change from fighting with people all the time. I just thought I would say hello and invite myself to the party.

I think so! I'm quite a bit calmer than I was. And beyond that, one other unrelated test she had that has come back problematic in the past came back today and it was a-okay. I am very thankful for that, and hoping good news will continue.

Sad to say that I have not had any points either.:rotfl:

First off, your schedule sounds like a pretty tough one to me! I missed those gimme grades in college too.

As for the argument-laden threads, my solution is to just think my response, or I'll give the gist of a thread to my fellow conservative, my mother, and then give her my response to it all. Keeps me from typing something I probably shouldn't.

I also use the back button quite a bit these days. :rotfl:

Hi, and welcome!

Ugh I'm sitting here with a screaming headache again. I'll be glad when my glasses come in. Should be by early next week.

Looking forward to getting to know you, and I hope you have fun here. :wizard:
