I love my feetie pajamas. :cool1: I got one pair from Nordstroms a few years ago and one from Target. Woohoo! I know there's a website where you can order them from. I'll have to go look for it.

I saw feety PJ's at Target this weekend in ALL sizes. I considered getting a pair but when it's that could out and I have to go to the bathroom, I thought it would be too :cold:.

Thanks for the well wishes, all. It looks a lot better, but it's hurting now from being online too long. This is a random rant, but anyway. Does anyone here collect (or do your children collect) the American Girl dolls? I'm not a doll collector myself, but I do have Samantha, Felicity, and Kirsten from the early 1990s. They're all like brand new, as are the clothes I was given for them over the years. I have all but 2 of the original Samantha outfits. It's all stored away, but still in excellent condition.

So anyway. Saw on TV a few weeks ago that Samantha and all of her things were being "archived" at the end of the year. Since I was missing a couple of outfits, I decided I wanted to have the complete original collection for old time's sake. Went to the website, they still had the two I needed. Forgot about it for awhile, went back tonight and almost everything is gone! Why the heck couldn't they keep making the stuff until their stupid retirement date? Naturally ebay has almost all of it for twice the price. Since I expected the price gouging to get worse, I just got the two outfits I was missing off of there for over $40 each (would've paid around $22 each, no shipping if bought through AG).

Now, how stupid is Mattel? Tons of people want this stuff, and they just up and say "Oh, well, once we're out of most things, we're not bothering to make more. Too bad!" Do they not comprehend how much money they're losing because of that bright idea? Sheesh. It was a bad day for the whole line when they bought out Pleasant Company. Variety went down, quality of the clothes went down, etc. Thankfully all but 1 of the things I currently have are from PC.

Anyway, if any of you collected the stuff years ago or have daughters who love Samantha, get what you need/want now. As it gets closer to Christmas, I can't even begin to imagine what people will be hawking this stuff for. :sad2:
Thank you so much for the heads up - my DD has Samantha and I'm sad that they are retiring her. She's our favorite doll! Makes no sense!

Obama skips church, heads to gym
By: Jonathan Martin and Carol E. Lee
November 23, 2008 09:32 PM EST

President-elect Barack Obama has yet to attend church services since winning the White House earlier this month, a departure from the example of his two immediate predecessors.

On the three Sundays since his election, Obama has instead used his free time to get in workouts at a Chicago gym.

Asked about the president-elect's decision to not attend church, a transition aide noted that the Obamas valued their faith experience in Chicago but were concerned about the impact their large retinue may have on other parishioners.

"Because they have a great deal of respect for places of worship, they do not want to draw unwelcome or inappropriate attention to a church not used to the attention their attendance would draw," said the aide.

Both President-elect George W. Bush and President-elect Bill Clinton managed to attend church in the weeks after they were elected.

In November of 1992, Clinton went to services in Little Rock, Ark., on the three weekends following his election, taking pre-church jogs on the first two and attending on the third weekend a Catholic Mass with the Rev. Jesse Jackson, with whom he was trying to smooth over lingering campaign tensions.

In the weeks after the contested 2000 election, Bush regularly attended services at Tarrytown United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas, and Al Gore was frequently photographed arriving at and leaving church in Virginia.

On his first day as president-elect, following weeks of Florida recounts and court hearings, Bush went to church with his wife, Laura. They attended an invite-only prayer service on Thursday, Dec. 14, at Tarrytown United Methodist Church. About 300 people attended, including top campaign staff and visiting clergy. During the service, the Rev. Mark Craig, senior pastor at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, told Bush, "You have been chosen by God to lead the people."

Obama was an infrequent churchgoer on the campaign trail, though he did make a series of appearances in the pews and pulpits of South Carolina churches ahead of that heavily religious state's primary.

The issue of where he worships is, of course, fraught. For about two decades, Obama and his family attended Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ. But, with the public disclosure earlier this year of incendiary sermons at Trinity by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama and his wife, Michelle, in June resigned their membership in the large South Side congregation.

At the time, the then-Illinois senator said that he didn't want his "church experience to be a political circus" and expressed regret for the unwanted attention members of the congregation had received, noting that some reporters had taken church bulletins only to call sick members and shut-ins.

During the campaign, Obama returned to Chicago to attend the South Side's Apostolic Church of God on Father's Day Sunday to give a speech aimed at the black community on the importance of fatherhood and family.

A number of Washington, D.C., churches of different denominations and traditions are now competing to become the spiritual home of the new first family.

The Obama aide said the family "look forward to finding a church community in Washington, D.C."

Am I the only one sorta dubious with this?
Nope. Do communists go to church? (Running and ducking from lurkers)

if you're not at least 40 yet, then you're still 30. when you turn 40, however, you get to be 29 again. it's called "spreading the youth around".
LOVE IT!!!!!

I like that. I'm staring 35 in the face and I am not happy about it. I don't feel 35. I feel 15 most of the time  I act it, too.
I feel like I'm 15 too - and here I'm 38. My body is telling me I'm 38 though....

2.5 million jobs by 1/31/2011

(bookmark this)
Noted. Sounds like Jennifer Granholm - the Michigan governor. When she took office in....shoot, Hockeymom - when did she take office again - 2003? Anyway, she said that in 5 years she'd bring millions of jobs to Michigan. Still waiting Jenny. (Who here calls her Jobless Jenny?)

I was looking for any excuse on why we couldn't shop at American Eagle anymore for DS, but they got an A+! I guess I should be thankful he's not into Hot Topic, eh?

Good morning everyone!

DH is back, he saw a fawn. LOL I keep telling him the road going out of town would be a prime deer hunting spot, but NOOOO must travel 6 hours to the UP and spend nine days up there so he can watch one fawn walk by. LOL
LOL! He could just sit in my backyard and he'd have 12 or 13 to choose from, and I live in a CITY!! It's like that show Northern Exposure up here - deer walking down the street annoyed with you because you're trying to go somewhere and they're in your way. We just signed a petition to allow the city to reduce the deer population here in town. I was told that there are over a hundred deer, right here in town! It's ridiculous!

Today I have a to do list a mile long, so I'll see you all later on tonight. Have a good day and don't let the OS bring you down!

I love that everyone calls them feeties, too!

I have a pair myself. They are :cold: . Hence, why I'm not wearing them. I wonder how come they don't have a trap door in the back for females  I even tried wearing a guinea tee underneath.

Michelle- this is the first time I saw those open toed feeties. I have to go back and get more. I got them at BJ's. My sister and I used to exchange fancy or fun PJ's to wear on Christmas Day. :)

hockeymom- your DH and my BIL are long lost brothers I think.;) My BIL will sit in a tree stand in friggid weather all night just to go 'spotlighting'.:cold:

For something just funny and cool; my mother has always had a tradition of buying pajamas for all us "kids" (me being the youngest at 41) for Christmas Eve. They are the one present we get to open the night before, and we MUST wear them to bed that night. She adopted my best friend Kat years ago, and always buys them for her---and now her husband--- too. Anyhow, a couple of years ago my mom was looking for cute PJs for Kat, and having a hard time. Kat is a queen sized woman. She was looking and looking...and she found feeties! In 3X! She HAD to buy them, and she wondered if Kat was going to hate them. She loves them, and wears them all the time in the winter. :) I was jealous. I wanted feeties too!

When DH and I got married, his DGma bought me a pair of feeties with out feet....... just has ribbing around the ankle. Kind of sucks since they always ride up in my sleep. I like them for lounging, but like everyone else it's :cold: when you need to go........

You know what's weird? The only birthday I ever had difficulty with was my 29th. I obsessed over the fact I was going to be THIRTY!! Oh, the horror! Well, when I turned 30....it didn't phase me. I haven't worried about another birthday since. The alternative isn't at all appealing! I'd much rather be old than dead!;)

I had a hard time turning 25. I was getting a divorce and fighting for custody of my youngin's. I kep saying my life was about one-third over and it was in chaos. Turning 30 and 35 were a TON easier. I don't know why, maybe it's just because I'm more settled. DH has a rule, no one in our house is older than 29; we're 29+X. :rotfl2: I figured it's going to work for a few more years before we have to come up with somethign new.

I live in a suburban area outside of Cleveland and we get deer here all the time. Last Christmas we saw 8 deer walk down the street, stop at the crosswalk, wait for traffic to clear, then cross the street in the crosswalk to go to the park.

My son thought it was neat that Santa's reindeer were scoping the route out!

:rotfl2:

Huzzah,

I finally found the new thread I won't be able to keep up with....:)

I have been busy traveling for work and haven't had time to keep up with current events (beyond the continued stock market woes).

Not looking forward to seeing what President-elect Obama's A team (previously known as President Clinton's B Team) is going to do about it......

...but fully expect a large middle class tax increase is on it's way (at a minimum).....I mean, what else can they do with the US Govt now backing over 7 trillion USD in bad debt (and this looks to be increasing every minute).

Wonder if this is ok with his supporters.....(seeing as how they are all ok with him possibly backing off the tax increase for the rich).

!

Communists? I was thinking of another word :rolleyes1

Here's a little funny since we're all caught up in the Christmas spirit. I posted it when I first joined, but thought it was more seasonal now ;) ...

BTW, I turn the big 4 - 0 in a couple days, and it hasn't bothered me until now. The last birthday that depressed me was my 25th - when I realized I was a quarter of a century old, and that I was born before man walked on the moon....blah! This one has me a bit down though. Maybe I can just stay an unofficial 39 forever....:rolleyes1

I work for a local GOP group and I need some good uplifting political Quotes. We send out weekly email updates and have decided to start adding a quote to the beginning. Googling "Republican Quotes" doesn't seem to bring much.

Help!

Reagan had some awesome ones. And he was the most positive uplifting president I think we've ever had. At least in my lifetime. Very optimistic. Instead, try googling Reagan quotes.

Great Googly Moogly!!

I girl takes a house hunting trip and WHAM a new thread. I like Mr. Man have no chance right now of keeping up.

Y'all have been busy!!

Just wanted to check in and say hi. Will do a drive by browse on the CB - keeping all comments to myself of course.:rolleyes1

Breezy - I turned 40 in September. Not so bad. But I really claim 38. I stopped counting at 38. :thumbsup2

Everyone have a splendid day!

My mom told me back in my early twenties that my 40th birthday would be one of my best because my life would be at a point when I was settled and comfortable. She's right. We have a nice home, our daughter went off to college this year, and our ten year old son gets some of the perks of being like an only child now. This is a really happy time in my life.:)

Hi everyone! Just found the new thread! I won't be around much because of the holidays, but I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!:goodvibes

Haven't you heard? 40's the new 30. It'll be okay! Happy almost birthday.:goodvibes

I cherish every birthday and seriously can't wait 'til I'm close to 100. My aunt never made it to 40 (she died at 39), so I guess that has largely shaped how I feel about birthdays. I am thankful for every one.

We've really run the course with Reagan quotes. The last three weeks and was hoping for some other ideas.

Obamunists? (couldn't resist) :rotfl: :lmao:

Happy Birthday!

party: :bday: party:
I'm doing this now in case I don't make it back on here in the next couple of days.

Don't be sad about it. Remember, any day on the top side of the grass is a great day! ;)

Yeah, and a little bitter energy from someone who got their nasty and borderine vulgar personal attack on another thread deleted earlier. Darn cat flap.
