Conservative Thread: We cannot do everything at once, but we can do something at once

Yeah, but nobody ever seems to be confused by his gender.

I know.......must be cuz I say Dude so often...... ;)

Or perhaps my constant offers to arm-wrestle the Progressives for Beer gives my gender away........not sayin' the ladies can't do this too......just saying they generally have the good sense not to.......

:)

Afternoon all:

My first post on the new thread. It's so nice to see a little hate making its way in from the other team. Are they lonely? Bored? Congenitally hostile? Disappointed that their guy has said, "Hey, thanks for votin' for me radicals. Now go away cuz you're kinda embarrassing"? What is it?

I think maybe it's kind of a bizarre detox from Bush Derangement Syndrome, complete with the delirium tremens, in which all that venom and hate must be redirected. I guess we're all George Bush now.

Eh, we can take it.

Alan Colmes seems like a very nice man, but he is dumber than a box of rocks. Sometimes it was painful to watch him, so utterly outmatched intellectually by Sean Hannity and virtually every guest they had on the show. Sometimes the "liberal" guest would look almost pained to be thinking "This guy is on our side? Good Lord, his brain is the size of a pea!"

I've also heard that Hannity is perhaps going to host the show solo, which I don't really like either. I'd like to see Kirsten Powers as the liberal host. She's smart (though, as a liberal, usually wrong) and tough, but not hysterical and unhinged, and she does not toe the line with the democrat party as Colmes always did. Sometimes she'll say "Yeah, the dems are completely wrong on this one (those are the rare times when she's right! :)), which is exactly what Hannity does. When the Repubs are wrong, he says so. Colmes never went against the democrat party talking points, not one single time. I just don't think he was capable of independent thinking. He had to be fed exactly what to say by the DNC. I'm glad to see him go. Whenever it was his turn for a segment, I changed the channel.

Hi all! A little eye update... woke up and it was very swollen and red. Swelling's gone down a bit, but still pink. It doesn't hurt as much before, but my eye keeps running. I'm assuming this is a good thing because the swelling goes down a bit each time. I don't want to go to the DR. if at all possible because I'm one of those people that catches seemingly every little cold or virus, and I just finally got over tonsillitis in the last few days. :sad2: Don't really want to go back and pick up another germ.

Debbieandroo, hope you feel better ASAP as well.

My girls have American Girl dolls. I just ordered my youngest a dress for Kirsten today. I, myself, would really like to have Felicity. I don't know why, I just really liked her. My other daughter has Samantha. The AG stuff is so expensive.
Samantha was my first AG doll, so she was always my favorite. Felicity was the second one. I hold a special place in my heart for Felicity because my family spent a lot of time there (Williamsburg) when I was growing up. And I love Revolutionary-Era history. :goodvibes My dad's a history buff, so it rubbed off on me. I can't even begin to name all of the battlefields, historical houses, and history museums we've been to over the years.

I don't know where all this birthday math leaves me...I really am still in my 20's. :rotfl:
Me too, thank goodness. Although I feel a lot older.

Huzzah,

I finally found the new thread I won't be able to keep up with....:)

I have been busy traveling for work and haven't had time to keep up with current events (beyond the continued stock market woes).

Not looking forward to seeing what President-elect Obama's A team (previously known as President Clinton's B Team) is going to do about it......
Glad to see ya here Mr Man. Someone on another forum the other day said before Hillary was definitely taking the SoS job: "It's like the 3rd Clinton term minus the Clinton." :rotfl2:

Communists? I was thinking of another word :rolleyes1

Here's a little funny since we're all caught up in the Christmas spirit. I posted it when I first joined, but thought it was more seasonal now ;) ...

BTW, I turn the big 4 - 0 in a couple days, and it hasn't bothered me until now. The last birthday that depressed me was my 25th - when I realized I was a quarter of a century old, and that I was born before man walked on the moon....blah! This one has me a bit down though. Maybe I can just stay an unofficial 39 forever....:rolleyes1
The cartoon: How sad and yet how true. :sad2: Happy birthday early, Breezy! And I agree about the 25 thing. It was awful for me too. I was glad I was in WDW during my birthday for the first time ever because I didn't have much time to think about it.

I work for a local GOP group and I need some good uplifting political Quotes. We send out weekly email updates and have decided to start adding a quote to the beginning. Googling "Republican Quotes" doesn't seem to bring much.

Help!
Hi! I know you said y'all went through a bunch of Reagan quotes, but did you get this one? It's one of my favorites. "I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will always eventually triumph. And there's purpose and worth to each and every life."

Happy Monday, everybody.
Am I the only one who did not have an American Girl doll, lol? I didn't even know they existed until I learned about them on Jon and Kate, Plus 8, lol. They seem like really sweet dolls, though. Are they more popular in the east and midwest? We had Cabbage Patch dolls growing up. :)
I was watching that show earlier today and :scared: . I can't imagine having 8 children. Have me fitted for my straight jacket now, thanks.

I don't know if the dolls were a regional phenomena or not. They were a big deal in VA anyway. I loved them because I loved the books. As I said above, I grew up a history buff, so I loved the fact that they were all from different eras and had period clothing and other things. If I had the room, I'd display the 3 I have. And if I had the room and more money, I'd love to get Molly, Josefina, and maybe Kit.

Only thing I'm worried about is who will replace him. He can be a pill, but he's relatively tame compared to most of the talking head liberals out there. Kirsten Powers would be good, I agree.

DD23 had Samantha, Kirsten, and Molly. She got her first AG doll the year before I had DS and a ton of clothes for her when I had DS. She loved the dolls, the clothes, and the books. They didn't have an AG store back then. I wish they had!

So far I liked my 30's a lot more than my 40's! Actually, my favorite year would have been 30. I'm still open to it being some year in the future, though!

I have a question for all the debs here. I'm guessing all of our full names are the biblical spelling, Deborah? Are you finding that people keep spelling it wrong lately? WHen I was younger, people always spelled it correctly, now it seems its being shortened and cheapened!

So is it just me, or does anyone else think of the WKRP in Cincinnati Turkey Drop episode this time of year?

"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!"

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

If I just had some of Breezy's mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, would that be a balanced dinner?

I totally agree:thumbsup2

Funny you should mention that. The radio mentioned that episode last nght when we were driving home from hockey. I went into laughing fits and had to explain to DS what WKRP was, how we always looked for it when driving down 75 to Florida, and what happened on Thanksgiving.

I miss that show!

Ummm, my "bat signal" is experiencing technical difficulties. Is anyone else have trouble locating it? Seriously.

hi guys... thought i'd share a couple of pics today. I've been a member of an online quilt group for about 4 years now, and we have members from all over the world. Today i received a gift from several members who worked together to make a quilt for Jacob and thought I'd share. It is too cute!! This is just slightly larger than a crib quilt to give you some perspective... Second picture is a gift from one of the members in England who knitted the tiniest little sweaters for him. They actually fit!! (They're too small for an AG Doll to give you reference :P

Awwww....JB, Jacob looks so cute! :goodvibes

I love the quilt. What are the four things in the corners - I see one's a flag - what are the other items?

Beautiful!

But, Jacob is the most beautiful! :)

Breezy, you're not the only one.
