I am finally caught up.
I posted a few threads ago, that I was not feeling well.
It appears that the reason is that I might have a heart problem
I had an EKG that turned out to be abnormal.
I have a stress test scheduled for Thursday of this week.
I would appreciate prayers and good thoughts
PS I don't know how to add the snowball thingie, but I would love to add it.

What I can't believe is some people from the Dark Side who are defending poor misunderstood Bill Ayers. Using quotes from Bill Ayers to do so. Because he was so innocent. Please.

Well by the time you go I'll be working so double:dance3: !!!!

My mom used to have a cookie press but I think it broke. We made Chex Mix and Chex Muddy Buddies tonight.popcorn::
I love Chex Mix - maybe we'll whip some up tonight.

It's nice to know that Bill Ayers thinks WE'RE the bad guys --

Gag me. Seriously. Are we in opposite world now?

Hi ya'll!! I just finished "my" tree..yes I have a my own tree. We have one with all the family ornaments and a Disney tree. Mine is a Victorian tree....lots of breakables. Almost all of the gifts are wrapped. I'm down to getting everything in order before our trip...I'm doing the single digit dance. YIPEE!! I only want to have to cook when I get back...I LOVE to bake for Christmas!!:goodvibes :santa: I'm in such a good mood tonight....not even "the Others" get can rile out of me.:rotfl:
Good for you for getting so much done. I'm jealous of all of you that will be at Disney soon.

Oh no - I hope it's minimal. I'd love to say a prayer for you.

Well, we got TONS and TONS and TONS of snow last night, so we missed the parade. Today DD and I went to work the pancake breakfast and then all of the kids and I went to Mass. We got stuck afterwards and, thankfully, other parishioners caught on and helped us out. I couldn't even get out of our parking space!! I needed to be bumped out by a truck to get out of there and they bumped me downhill (I was parked on the street on an incline, but couldn't go up or down - it was weird!)

They were so nice - I know who one of them was, but I don't know who the other two people were. Maybe I can ask the guy I know who the others were so I can send them a thank you note or something like that.

Going to sew all day today - I have three Christmas stockings to finish today. Oh, and Debbie - I made that mint brownie recipe yesterday - oh my word, it was HEAVENLY!! Thanks so much for sharing it - it was so easy to make and was quite the hit. Thank you!

mrsdon: I am saying a prayer for you, please keep us informed.

Oh my goodness, Bill Ayers, Theresa's thread on GWB being cheered, it just never amazes me.

I woke up really depressed today, missing my mom. This is my first Christmas without her. Came on the CB for a little fun and opened that above mentioned thread. Needless to say, it didn't cheer me a bit.

Sheesh, one poster even had to trash Pop Century! Motel 6 my foot.:sad2:

Okay, I am off to do some baking and put up another tree. If its plastic and can hold lights, I am putting it up. Tis the season after all.

Will definately say prayers for you.

How can they possibly justify defending Bill Ayers?

Hi everyone! My Rocket cake turned out pretty good and everyone had a great time at the party for DD-thanks for the well-wishes. :thumbsup2

It amazes me the lovefest for Bill Ayers. Apparently, bombing public buildings when they're empty is cause for admiration nowadays! :confused3 And you can disagree with the bombing (not hate, despise, only disagree) but like his motivation. Weird, weird, weird! But I was such a good girl and refrained from posting.

Sending prayers and good thoughts to mrsdon...

Look what my township has decided to do to cut back: http://www.yournorwin.com/norwinstar/article/north-huntingdon-alter-road-salt-use. :sad2:

Last night we had one of those "light snows" and I happened to be burning the midnight oil to get a project done at my church and didn't head home until well past midnight. We had freezing temps and a light snow that started before midnight. The major road I travel on was okay up until the township line. My 4-wheel drive vehicle, you know the one that's supposed to make winter traveling easier, was skidding all over the place. It was not a fun ride home.

Contrary to the belief of my township officials - my town is no longer a farming town. People do travel and have need to get places all hours of the night. Some even work night shifts (my husband included) and not all have 4 wheel drive vehicles (which are still like big sleds on icy, untreated roads).

I'm all for saving costs and keeping my taxes low, but don't our taxes go into providing services for us - services like winter road treatment to keep us safe and alive. :rolleyes1

Yep, but only graduate school though (so, the obligatory Aggie jokes only half-apply).

Undergrad was at LMU (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München)- US Army.....long story.....

Hope things have been well with you (I hear Army food has dramatically improved over the years).

:)

(Mine are all from Phoenix ON-line...okay just joshin..... one is from a State "party school", one from Baylor... hence the Razz and the last from a State School, 'chef' school)

Spent all day in the test kitchen perfecting my recipes. Working on Spagetti and Meatballs. Estimated time of plating.... 20 minutes. Viva la Vino! Anyone can be a great cook with enuf vino.

Ya know some people just aren't playing with a full deck. If Hitler, Mussolini, or any other despot "explained" their actions and philosophies from their points of view, they would be golden too. There would also be mindless zombies who would say, "See, Hitler wasn't so bad after all. He never turned on the gas in the gas chamber so his hands are clean."

We've missed you!!!! and :grouphug: and prayers for you this Thursday - please let us know the results.

I'd love to help you with the snowball but I'm not savvy enough to do it 'long-distance.' I think the directions were on the PM I sent you - aren't they? If not, I can PM them to you.

Alternate universe - and, if Ayers had done something like this in another country besides ours, he'd be executed or imprisoned for life. But he's the one who hates America - go figure....

:grouphug: I'm sorry about you missing your mom - the holidays make that so much more difficult. Someone posted up thread [might have been you!] about creating a new normal but I think it takes a long time for that to happen.

I read that about POP too - way out of line. Way way out of line....

Good work on getting the Christmas spirit - sometimes if you don't feel like doing something but you do it anyway, the feeling comes back.

Did you take pics of the rocket cake?

Silly, juligirl -- you mean you'd be willing to pay taxes for stuff that the government is actually supposed to do - like build roads and keep them safe for taxpayers.....do governments still do that sort of thing?

Please be careful - that's scary!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and it makes you wonder exactly what they would say right now if they could.

The replies on that Bill Ayers thread have been a real education for me. Reading some of that stuff makes one realize how evil has flourished in human history with the full stamp of approval of otherwise ordinary citizens. When people become so ideologically blinded that murder and attempted murder of their own countrymen is a legitimate — even laudable — political expression, well then their ideology is dead, and they are simply mindless servants to those who would obtain power through terrorism. It's so sad, because I fear we will have to defend ourselves from such folks one day, and it will be like fighting an army of lethal zombies. What will ever wake them up?

Whatever it will be that eventually wakes them won't be pretty. Either that, or they'll grow up, get married, have kids, and pay taxes. That's usually the ticket that brings the idealism of youth down from outer space.

Ok I'm back. I didn't read back so :sad2: where it's due and  to those who need them. I have a PowerPoint presentation due tomorrow in Western Civ so I need to finish it... but I'll peek in every few minutes. ;)

The libs won't say anything against Ayers because to do so is to admit that H has shown bad judgment when it comes to picking his associates. With them it's all about the letter "D" after H's name. If McCain was President Elect and had associated with someone who bombed abortion clinics, even forty years ago ("but he's a nice guy now" /puke), the libs here would be tearing him apart.

Hi guys! Guess what I did today? I bought our Disneyland park hoppers for next month and printed them out. I had to admire them for awhile before I folded them up and put them in my wallet with the rental car and condo confirmations. :cool1: Definitely feels real now that I have the tickets. I'm so excited!

YAY! Have a great trip!

Thanks for the vote of confidence! :thumbsup2 It is frosted and I'm walking away from it for the evening. DH came in when I was getting stressed and helped-what a great guy!:lovestruc

It will need a bit of touch up tomorrow, but it's done! Kids are in bed, and I can enjoy my adult beverage!

Hope the party and cake were great! We just did DDs party yesterday. Like to get it over with early in the month. Her birthday is Christmas Eve.

i figure it is people desperate for attention. it's ridiculous. why not celebrate the "goodwill toward men" aspect of the season instead of causing trouble.

Good point.

so, unless thse honor code pledgers were vampires, how could a cross possibly be a problem? i think it is all a big put on.

i don't live far from sacramento where some guy didn't want the pledge of allegiance said in his daughter's school, because they don't believe in God, and the pledge contains "under God". couldn't figure out why the entire school had to suffer as a result. if they don't believe in God, then saying "under God" doesn't really have a meaning to them and shouldn't matter. or, why not take a breath while everybody else says "under God", because the rest of the pledge would still be relevant. but noooooo.....people like this have to take the pleasure away from everybody. great bunch o' twits.

Wonderlanne you must be close to me. I remember this guy. ITA. Twits.

Prayers for MrsDon.

Breezy thanks for the recipe!

Michelle - great kids!!

Mr. Man and Zip - love the pics

OK have to get to cleaning up around here. Maybe wrap a few presents. Not much Christmas spirit here. Or maybe its Winter Solstice spirit I am supposed to be looking for....?? OK hold on.

Nope. None of that either. ;)

Check in with you all later. Have to go scowl at the Dallas Cowboys game. :sad2:
