I wanted to send a quick email to let you know that I will be appearing on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday morning. Please check your local listing for airtimes in your home town.

Among other topics, I hope to discuss President Obama's plans to send more troops to Afghanistan, a decision I support. However, more troops alone will not lead to success and President Obama has yet to articulate a coherent strategy for achieving victory in Afghanistan. While I welcome the President's decision, I hope it is the first step in a comprehensive new strategy.

In addition, I will hopefully have the opportunity to discuss the stimulus package and how we should address the country's mortgage crisis.

Aren't they going to raise taxes on cigarettes to pay for SCHIP?
So a couple of things are going to happen: 1) They're going to have to convince people to smoke to pay for it therefore stopping all those annoying smarmy anti-smoking commercials with singing leprechauns and typewriters, 2) They're going to tax the crap out of the remaining smokers after everyone else quits because they can't afford cigaretts or 3) The kids are going to have to take up smoking to pay for their own healthcare.

But an overpartisan cop that confiscates someone's bumper sticker and calls the secret service because he spoke against bo? No, that was going too far.
I don't like anti-Christian bumper stickers and I'm not too fond of anti-conservative stickers but in no way would I take someone's stuff because I don't like what they say.

I found this story shocking, too. And quite frankly, any true "liberal" that isn't appalled — absolutely appalled — that a POLICE OFFICER pulled over and questioned someone because he had a POLITICAL MESSAGE on his car is no genuine liberal at all. The word for this is FASCISM, and I hope this guy sues that police department for violating his civil rights. Being a Michigander myself, I'd suggest he call Jeffrey Feiger (only the Michigan folks will get that). I would pursue this abuse of power and seek damages in a most aggressive way. Every act of fascism that is tolerated leads to a more egregious act later on.

The Secret Service "visited" and "walked through" a private citizen's home and "interviewed" him for 30 minutes on the basis of his Constitutionally protected and non-violent expression of political opposition to the president and because of his pro-life views. That the fascists were "polite" while intimidating this man and harassing his family is no comfort to me at all. The federal government now has a file on this private citizen, no doubt, and he can likely expect more harassment from agencies under President Obama's control (such as the IRS). I'm sure the Castro regime is capable of "professionalism" at times, too, but toward what aims, exactly?
