Excuuuuse me. The Secret Service "visited" and "walked through" a private citizen's home and "interviewed" him for 30 minutes on the basis of his Constitutionally protected and non-violent expression of political opposition to the president and because of his pro-life views. That the fascists were "polite" while intimidating this man and harassing his family is no comfort to me at all. The federal government now has a file on this private citizen, no doubt, and he can likely expect more harassment from agencies under President Obama's control (such as the IRS). I'm sure the Castro regime is capable of "professionalism" at times, too, but toward what aims, exactly?

Sorry, but saying that you want to see someone who is arguable the President hung instead of Saddam is not quite the same as what the guy in question did. For starters it would be a little medically impossible to "abort" a living man. Unless you are willing to state that the word "abortion" equals "murder", then it would seem clear that by "abort" the Obama critic only wants him removed from office.

Look at the parsing you are doing. The lady didn't even name Bush--you yourself say it's "arguably the President". Why is that inference any different than the inference that abortion=murder, particularly when the guy is clearly anti-abortion?

As a side note, I don't recall the SS taking action to interview people at the Showtime channel or the makers of "The L Word" in 2007 when they featured an art sculpture in one of their episodes titled "The Unauthorized Abortion of W":

About the abort Obama sticker. The SS (if not accurate, at least ironic) was wrong I think in this considering all the other "threats" against Bush.

Second, were any of you just dying to call your stock owning Democrat rabid-BO supporter friends and say, "So, how's it working out for ya? Looked at your portfolio lately?"

My mother became a democrat within the last few years (why? because she had new neighbors that moved in from NY and they get the NY Times. Mom is too cheap to buy her own paper, so she reads NYT as her only source of news=drinking the kool-aid). Anyway, all her $ is tied up in stocks and bonds. She has no credit cards, is retired, etc. She normally would be flipping out over the market, calling me telling me to sell the kids, eat the dog, etc. But lately she has been almost nonchalant about what is happening. So unless she put the $ under the mattress, I can't understand her defending BO and bashing the GOP.

She called me Thursday as the market was crashing, asking me if she should buy my kid some shirts on sale. I totally lost it, "No, don't spend the $, the shirts on sale for $10 today will be $4 in a few weeks and then in six months, we'll need a wheelbarrow just to hold the dollars to buy the same shirt!!" Like freakin' Soviets buying a loaf of bread!!!

Still haven't gotten to watch Glen Beck's Friday show on DVR. Too scared to.

My husband think I'm losing it. He's from Denmark, came here in the '90's to escape 60% tax rates. I'm glad I didn't push him to become a citizen (originally kept it so kids could travel on Danish VISA's after 9/11 but that plan was shot in the back by the Muslims, thank you very much!). Now I am seriously considering the option of moving there if things go the way they seem to be heading here. At least they are Conservative socialists who believe in individual freedom. And the health care system has been in place longer (though DH's mother died because her needed heart surgery was about two weeks too late to help her). Maybe the Danish will be taking us GOP refugees in a few years, like hiding the Jews in WWII.

I was surprised to hear Niel Boortz talking the same way the other day. I almost drove my car off the road when I flipped the radio station and heard him say "Move to another country!"

I wouldn't say conservative Dems are totally gone. We have a Dem representative back home who came to speak at our college last fall, and he is a VERY conservative Dem. I voted for him last year, in fact. There are still a few left.... I think they might just be hiding.

I answered your query in my first post on the matter... I said that it wasn't political. I'm not quite sure what more you're looking for. However, I don't agree on giving the SS a pass because they were "just following up on a report". I'll repeat it again, I think the SS has a little more discretion than that.

MIL is a lifelong yellow-dog democrat. She's not too happy with the BO. She won't say much, but will say she doesn't believe his spending programs will be successful.

And this is the point I was trying to get across in a thread yesterday in which I was being chastised for daring to utter my non-complimentary thoughts regarding Obama. If you tell your story enough, eventually some people will listen and do some research. That is my only goal and "agenda"; to get some blind, rapid BO supporters to seek out truth! If I can only get one person to see BO for what he really is, that's great, as that one will hopefully go out and speak, which will lead to another one, and so on and so forth.

They are a lost cause. It is the average voter, who gave a passing glance to the whole election process, that you have the greatest chance of influencing.

I have determined not to use his name until he is voted out of office, nor will I capitalize the words white house or potus. He is not my president. He is merely occupying the space at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave for the next 4-8 years.

It never ceases to amaze me that all of my fellow Dems who accused Bush of being a rich daddy's boy yet floppy buys his office for half a billion dollars and he gets a free ride. Where is the same outrage that the war will be paid for by our kids when talking about his tranquilizer for the masses plan?

I agree, I don't think this is political, but this seems like no discretion was applied. I think it might have something to do with the fact that this is our first black president and there are a few nutjobs that are willing to do him in. (yes I realize every president has this problem, but it seems to be more pronounced here)
