Has anyone else noticed the lack of outrage over the government stepping in and regulating salaries? Sure, right now it's for companies receiving bailouts but do we REALLY think that the Obama team will stop there? I'm betting they're coming up with a "compelling state interest" right now to start capping salaries in other areas. Communism at it's finest.

Barny Frank already alluded that this gov regulation over salaries will move into the private sector, so I have no doubt they’ll do it.

Reid blocks bipartisan amendment requiring citizenship verification for stimulus recipients

GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions and Democrat Sen. Ben Nelson attempted several times to bring their bipartisan amendment to the floor last week. SA 239 would require local governments and businesses that receive porkulus money to use the federal E-Verify citizenship check system.

But Democrat Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid refused to allow it to come to the floor. Now, we’re headed for cloture.

“While it is difficult to believe that Senate leaders might insist that illegal aliens have the same chance at new stimulus jobs as unemployed Americans, this scenario may now be at hand,” says Roy Beck of Numbers USA. “SA 239 is now unlikely to receive a floor vote.”

Okay, I'm sharing another video. This woman just touches my heart. I have been very sentimental lately and she reminds me of my grandparents. I miss them so much!

I lived with my grandparents for a few years and they cooked like this, (though MY grandma's cooking was awful - Clara can cook!)

Coming in to this recession/depression/whatever you want to call it has really gotten us to tighten the belt on the way we live here. I just adore Clara talking about the Depression while she's cooking. She's adorable and I'd love to spend a few hours with her. What a great lady.

Much better to watch than the President right now.

Darn, I could just kick myself right now. The CPers on the 13th of Feb. are eligible for a behind-the-scenes tour of HM, and when I called to sign up, would you believe the spots are already full?? I could cry right about now!!! My roomie and I were just talking about how we want to see the inner workings of the HM.... ahhh, well. Maybe we can arrange a tour another time. We both know CPers who work there.
