OPINIONS PLEASE:
What do you think of people, who seem to think the internet provides you total anonymity, and, consequently, have the right to say really awful things about others? I know MIL's can be trying and I understand that people sometimes vent about BFF's or significant others that disappoint, but I totally do NOT comprehend cruel comments about children, especially when you know they would, no doubt, break the heart of the parent, if they read the horrid remark. I asked DH his feelings about this because of a situation he faced once (he was getting his hair cut at the same shop my sis goes and he heard the woman in the next chair, who was a "friend" of my sis, talk about our wonderful nephew and my sis in a derogatory manner; he had always regretted not letting her know he was our nephew's very proud uncle). His belief is that belittling other children is either a) you are trying to make your child seem less like the Alfred E Neuman look-alike he or she is, or b) you are just an evil person or c) all of the above. I did not put this out on the CB because I want some good souls to read this and I have NEVER read a post from anyone here that has not been supportive of ALL children. Unfortunately, I know some CB posters are not so good-hearted. So what do you think?

Mine is May 12

It's terrible.![]()
If someone has to stoop to the level of ridiculing a child, that said person must have absolutely no self-esteem themselves, or they are a sociopath. They are without compassion and conscience.![]()

I agree. Children should be off limits. Some people apparently don't think so, though. They are without compassion and conscience.![]()

lots of may babies on this thread! my dad is a may baby, so i'm partial.
Debbie, you forgot that wonderful mayor of yours....![]()
I love St. Jude. Several of my wish kids have been there and it is really impressive.
Mphs does have a ton of great places to eat, too.
As for entertainment, we still like the zoo and the Red Birds. Everyone should go to Graceland at least once, don't you think?
Uhhh, excuse you, missy, but he was born in Tupelo!!!! So he's ours in MS!!![]()
Ok, ok....
Yesterday.... ugh. Let's not even discuss it.It wasn't work-related. It was something else. Though work was a bit
, but I love it. I'll just remember to start bringing a jacket on days when I work stocking the cooler.

Woohoo Deb
I have a spare bedroom, or I might have a something else to help with the room
St Jude is truly amazing...the things they do to help children and families...I have yet to hear anything negative about working there or being a patient there. When you talk about your wish kids, are you talking about the 'make-a-wish' program? [and I apologize for not remembering if you've mentioned this before]
And I love the Red Birds! I've been blessed enough with a couple of friends who had season tickets to the games so I got to go quite a bit. Then they have had the nerve to stop getting the tickets! I might actually have to pay for the tickets myself one of these days...![]()
And Graceland...well, as a native, I'm holding on going to G'land as long as possible...there's something funny and ironic [and a little shocking for some people] about someone who lives in Memphis but has never gone to Mecca.
Hey, we gotta take what we can get!

you go, girl!
Welcome back! How was your trip?
I agree with everyone else....and it is a good lesson to remember that you never know who may be listening to what you think is a private conversation. Although, I did have to laugh at the bolded part...
And as a general rule, have y'all ever noticed that the people who complain most about other people's children seem to have the worst behaved children themselves?
The event with my DH and nephew happened 15 years ago and he still occasionally mentions it. Cruelty has an amazingly long shelf life.

Plus, May is a wonderful month to be at WDW!!! Great weather and Flower Power!!
that's right! although i could be there any time and love it. gotta love disney.
congrats on the 3000 posts!
Did anyone have kids that took college classes in their Jr year at high school? DS is testing tomorrow to get into 2 (English and History). I am a little concerned about him getting in over his head. He does well but is pretty busy and I would think these would be a lot more work than a high school class. Any words of wisdom? Thanks!
Well, the good thing is DH is really good about it.
Oh, and tonight's dinner plans just got switched to pasta with a little bit of butter and that's it. All white foods for the next 48 hrs. I guess....just in case. Ugh.
Any other suggestions? We don't get this thing - in fact DS and DD have only had it once in their lives, so I'm a little rusty with this.
Obama is a breath of fresh air?!?! Somebody hold me back.![]()
