Hi, Debbie. Yes, Make A Wish. I don't know if I've even mentioned it. It's on my mind quite a bit now because our big fundraiser is Friday. Our area gets almost all of our monies as a result of the annual wish-a-thon. I get to meet a child tomorrow night to see what his wish might be. Yeah! While I never get to see them on their wishes, I love the parties where we get to tell them their wish is coming true.

Funny thing about the Red Birds-I really like them, but I've been to see the Cards more and they are 4 1/2 hrs away. LOL I think it is because I can turn it into a vacation

St. Jude is so good, I really hope they never close their doors. It is just so great that payment is only from insurance and not from the patient's families. It is a huge relief to families that they don't have to worry about that also. I've only visited a couple of times, but it is really neat that they cater to making the kids as happy as they can. The Grizzley House and the Ronald McDonald House are great for the families and patients also. I think there are other houses but I don't know for sure.

That's not likely to happen.

would be interesting though. the party ideals have changed so much over time. ronnie used to be a democrat and a union leader, for instance. i'll pr would let us know which pres. he is.

i'd take the test but i'd betray you and give away the link. :upsidedow

I guess PR is asking for the link for the President's test?

Well, here it is. President's Test
He mentions Reagan being a good Pres. But he still called Harry Truman 'Harriet', so even if he's a conservative he's obviously not very bright.

Unrelated, but I just read the thread that says who's going to be on DWTS this season. :scared: Denise Richards? Lil' Kim? GAG!

oh...hmmm...we'll see what happens i guess.

And so much for Julianne not being back this season (I am happy she'll be back, FWIW); I guess getting paired with her BF changed her mind right quick. :rotfl2:

she's by far got the best ballroom technique.

Tink sorry to hear about your husband hope its not to bad.

Could I ask for some prayers- Husband has been cancer free for a year but is still having issues with his lungs-more tests coming. So hard with the boys gone and having to keep them posted by e-mail.
Just coming on here helps keep me going-I always enjoy reading everyones posts. Thanks in advance.
Sandy

SD - don't worry too much. There's actually a diagnostic imaging tool that is waiting for FDA approval and that's it - it's something that's really good and can help a lot of women. So, my point is - new is not always bad ;)

Oh, I do realize that. I just don't like her being one of only a handful of people in the entire country having her treatment plan decided based on this. She feels even more strongly than I do about this; it's really bothering her. It can be new and great. Or it can be new and dead wrong. And I don't like her being the guinea pig for it. I want her to get the treatment she actually needs, you know? Nothing less than what she needs, nothing extra that she doesn't need. Not some research project where they can turn around and say "Well, based on these tests, we gave her X treatment extra, but based on all data of all patients 10 years down the road, it made no difference in recurrence rate and/or pills would've had the same effect." I've done enough research in Psychology myself to know that this is trial and error experimentation, and that they're using these handful of people to see if things make a difference long term and if this data actually means jack squat compared to the data they already had. My mother didn't sign up to be a guinea pig, hence the frustration and irritation about this.

I understand both of your frustration.:grouphug:

Is she going to let them just test but not decide her treatment on?

The President who, with his congress, interred 100,000 innocent Japanese Americans and started welfare. Way to go. Yay.

I don't agree with everything that every president does. That's blind loyalty and disgusting. While FDR was simply reacting on the advice of the military and his advisors, it is a disgusting act, that I am glad President Reagan made an attempt at apologizing and offering reparations.

See? I told you he wouldn't be Ronnie. And I also said that the creator was a lib.

However, even with the reparations and apologies to Japanese Americans, I'm quite proud to not have been the Gipper in this one. While the majority of posters on this thread seem to think he was one of our greatest presidents, overall I don't share this view.

She's going to see what the results say, and if he changes the treatment plan he had suggested before (just pills on his end, radiation from another doctor), she's going for a second opinion. Although she is saying if he says it's a little tiny bit in the direction of "get chemo," that she's thinking about saying no. This is what's upsetting me too. If she needs it, I want her to get it. I don't want her to go through it, but if she has to, she has to. But with everything up in the air like this, I feel like it's pratically impossible to know whether she actually needs it or if it's just guesswork based on this new test.

Anyhow, I must go eat dinner now. Be back later.

i was rather surprised when my neighbor went through breast cancer. she had a mastectomy, chemo which lasted for what seems like forever, then radiation (they didn't catch it very early!). while she did lose her hair during chemo, she said she only ever felt a tired but not sick. and she has two really little kids she was carting around and taking care of. and when i mowed her lawn she thought i was nuts. :rotfl:

it is amazing to me what the medical world can do today. a diagnosis like cancer is always scary, but we see so much remarkable success now.
