What do you think of people, who seem to think the internet provides you total anonymity, and, consequently, have the right to say really awful things about others? I know MIL's can be trying and I understand that people sometimes vent about BFF's or significant others that disappoint, but I totally do NOT comprehend cruel comments about children, especially when you know they would, no doubt, break the heart of the parent, if they read the horrid remark. I asked DH his feelings about this because of a situation he faced once (he was getting his hair cut at the same shop my sis goes and he heard the woman in the next chair, who was a "friend" of my sis, talk about our wonderful nephew and my sis in a derogatory manner; he had always regretted not letting her know he was our nephew's very proud uncle). His belief is that belittling other children is either a) you are trying to make your child seem less like the Alfred E Neuman look-alike he or she is, or b) you are just an evil person or c) all of the above. I did not put this out on the CB because I want some good souls to read this and I have NEVER read a post from anyone here that has not been supportive of ALL children. Unfortunately, I know some CB posters are not so good-hearted. So what do you think?

I think such a display demonstrates their level of intolerance and immaturity.

I took a very poorly written quiz on Facebook. It asked "Which President Are You?". The writer said you could be as good a President as FDR, or as bad as Richard Nixon, Harriet Truman, or George W. Bush.
Idiot libs. Not only do they blast Bush but they don't realize that it's not Harriet, it's Harry Truman.

Anyway, based on my political views, I am this President:

Woohoo!

Woohoo!
care to link me to the FB quiz? I'm curious.

I can't see what crawled through the pet door. Can't we nail it shut or something? :rotfl:

maybe we can give pr the secret code so that he can come in...he's a nice guy.:goodvibes pretty please?

This is where pr is: ;)

Any of the libs who came into our thread and were rude, yes, they got stuck on my ignore list. If they've been "nice" here and talked rudely about us elsewhere, they're on that list. I find it saves me money on aspirin.

We still have this Ronald Reagan:

My dad helped build that carrier too. :goodvibes

Hey, Elvis belongs to everybody.
I love Elvis! I still bicker with my mom for her not going to an Elvis concert in her hometown in the early 70s. "Do you know what you deprived me of by not going and not being able to tell me about it?!!!" :rotfl2:

SD, from my perspective, and this is coming from someone with a rare disease who fights every day for better and more accurate tests for diagnosis...

Don't discount new tests. Give it a shot. Even if it is for research purposes. Someone had to test all the tests that we have nowadays, a long time ago, even things as simple as a blood count were unreliable tests.

Several of my tests are only processed at one lab in the country and only a handful of doctors use, but that's just protocol for my disease.

I honestly would give the whole left side of my body to be involved in something like that for my disease. New things come out everyday and it just may be the thing that saves your mom's life.

But remember, this is coming from someone who's diagnosis is going to take a year + to get and is very rare (I knew I was special, just never knew how special...)
I know what you're saying, honu, but I don't like that an entire treatment plan is determined based on the results of a test no one else does that is still new. Only a handful of people are having their treatment plans based on that. It could be great, but it could also be dead wrong. Hence my dislike about this. And I know you meant nothing by it, but saying it may just save her life is very upsetting to me. At this point her life isn't in danger. Is this ideal? No, but of all the types to have, she's been told she has the "best" type and this is just a blip on the road to a long life. Sorry if I'm coming across as picking, as that's not my intent. Like I said before, the anniversary of my grandfather's death is this weekend, so anything about people dying or their lives being in danger is really hitting a still sensitive nerve with me at this point. :sad1:

That's me Tuesday. I'll get off around 1am, get home at 2am, have to get up at 5am to catch the bus, and work from 7am till 3:30pm. But then two days off, thankfully. I like it, but I do get tired.

That's not very Disney of them to schedule you like that!:grouphug:
A friend of mine worked at MK a couple years ago. Man, she had awful hours. Similar to Soarin's, but crazy days were the norm for her. She only lasted in that job about 6 months before she had to change.

I think it's low. One comment can stick with a child for years, and if it ever gets back to that child, that cannot be pretty. Some children are more "trying" than others, but it's never right to trash a child. Ever.

St Jude is truly amazing...the things they do to help children and families...I have yet to hear anything negative about working there or being a patient there. When you talk about your wish kids, are you talking about the 'make-a-wish' program? [and I apologize for not remembering if you've mentioned this before]

And I love the Red Birds! I've been blessed enough with a couple of friends who had season tickets to the games so I got to go quite a bit. Then they have had the nerve to stop getting the tickets! I might actually have to pay for the tickets myself one of these days...;)

And Graceland...well, as a native, I'm holding on going to G'land as long as possible...there's something funny and ironic [and a little shocking for some people] about someone who lives in Memphis but has never gone to Mecca.
:rotfl: Someday I will get there! I adore Elvis, have since I was born and my parents played his music all the time in the car on trips. :lovestruc

Wait, so we actually had our first female President decades ago and I missed it all? Darn it! No fair! :sad1:

:confused3 in a little box with a red "x" on it? sounds uncomfortable.

Oh, it is. But I fixed it. :rotfl:

ETA: Wonder, our current pet door visitor was put on my ignore list before the election; came in here and posted some stuff that was argumentative and snarky. And my rule is that rather than say something to get myself banned, I put on ignore. LOL

Well... I was gonna ask you to draw it for me, but you saved me the trouble.

Thanks :)

Anyway... how about the FB link?

darn double posts.

maybe if pr takes the test he'll turn out to be ronnie too! wouldn't that be worth it? :teeth:

PR, I'd give you the link, but I don't have it myself. Sorry can't be of help.

Unrelated, but I just read the thread that says who's going to be on DWTS this season. :scared: Denise Richards? Lil' Kim? GAG!

And so much for Julianne not being back this season (I am happy she'll be back, FWIW); I guess getting paired with her BF changed her mind right quick. :rotfl2:
