Hmm...... cause this is what I found and I don't know how true it is but It causes me to be very uneasy. Some one mentioned the Logan Act and I wasn't sure what it was or if it was applicable.

I hope this isn't true because the last thing this country needs right now is more political problems. However, I fear this might be true because of the political rumblings about Iraq before the election.

Clearly, Team Obama meddled in US foreign policy before the US election. Clearly, that was a violation of US law. And just as clearly, no one is going to do a thing about, the media won't cover it, and the Republicans in Congress won't criticize it.

However, as I read somewhere else today, our enemies got an up close and personal look at Team Obama through these illegal foreign policy contacts, and as the Iranian regime told the nation this week, they found Team Obama to be weak and laughable. So while it's a despicable breach of protocol — and the law — at least we're learning earlier than we might have how weak this administration will be on foreign policy and national defense — and how dirty this administration will be. That is good information for a resurgent Republican Party to have so early in Obama's administration. When we find out how dirty they are this early, the soil can only pile up, and the sooner the American people will realize what a terrible mistake they've made.

There is a reason the military gets a pay cut, while ACORN gets a big fat bonus check.

yeah, well, as i've said before, he's violated the constitution more than once (for instance, hillary was just sworn in as SOC, and that is a violation because she once voted for a pay increase for that position...unless they have reduced the salary to the point prior to that vote, it is a violation of the constitution.), and i would like to see him on t.v. in an orange jumpsuit. he was speaking to foreigh leaders after having given up his senate seat too, which means there was no way to pretend he was authorized to do so.

doesn't matter that he swore to uphold the constitution; he doesn't care. he's a fake.

I finally watched American Carol.

Detroit got nuked.

Sorry Hockeymom.

*totally cracking up*

I haven't seen it yet, and though I can barely keep up here I happened tot hit this page and see this! I guess the only good thing is the fact that besides MM, I'm the next furthest out so maybe my town was saved?

DH and I loved watching arliss on HBO... they had one of the shows where they kept on saying, "The only thing for certain in Detroit is that someone is gonna get shot."

We repeat that line WHENEVER we go into the city!

WE WON OUR FIRST HOCKEY PLAYOFF GAME! WOOO HOOOO Game two is tonight. Then, I think we have a week of just practices until game three and four.

We're just going to have to ride this out until the country has had enough. The clean-up will be a big job, but it can be done. Think of the political ads all this corruption and incompetence will provide in 2010, 2012, and beyond. We'll have to be polite, though, and keep our "I told you so's" to a dozen or so a day.

Loco you are probably right with your evaluation. Though I must say that there is hope with the likes of Jake Tapper at ABC.

I didn't trust Obama because he was from Chicago ( not a good reason, but definitely gut felt due to the political climate here) but after he was elected and all the "good press" he got on his selections, I did have a smidge of hope that he would turn out Ok after all.

It seems like my gut did not lead me wrong in this one and we will all be victims of Chicago style politics. I guess the "other side" seems to think that the end justifies the "means".:sad2:

I think they really are fascinated by him. It's kind of weird.

Ohhh, I have to share this. I got on my Wii Fit last night and it always says something when you step on it like "OH" or "Great." So last night I stepped on it for the first time and it said, "Great!" I looked at my mom and told her that I must be in Wii Fit's Obamaland. I haven't even done anything yet and it's already telling me I'm Great! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:
I know. It's disconcerting when you step on and it goes "OH!" like it's grunting under your weight.

Hi all. Haven't possted in a while but I thought that you guys would be the one's to ask about this since I know very little about american history. Do any of you know anything about the Logan act of 1799? And is it still active to this day?
Yup. It's very much still active.

i believe the logan act was cited when, prior to the election, bho called leaders of foreign countries to talk about how fabulous he is.

Hmm...... cause this is what I found and I don't know how true it is but It causes me to be very uneasy. Some one mentioned the Logan Act and I wasn't sure what it was or if it was applicable.

It's very true. This was talked about a couple months before the election. HRC even commented on it, I believe.

Amen, but it's still sickening to witness.... I guess we'll have to do a lot of :drinking1 over the next 4 yrs.

I know. It's disconcerting when you step on and it goes "OH!" like it's grunting under your weight.

My mom and I always laugh at that one. She's very petite and it still groans like that, then I, the 210 pound person, gets on and it says, "great!". I wouldn't believe it if I didn't hear it myself.

Hi guys! I can't possibly catch up so I'm just jumping in. I did see that it was Hilarie with an H's birthday, though, so Happy Birthday! princess:

Hubby is gone back on his way to Iraq. :( Two weeks went by way too quickly. We had a great time, though.
I'm glad you got to spend time with him, but I'm sorry that you still have such a long road to go before he's home for good. Y'all are in my prayers. Can't imagine how hard this must be on you, especially.

Can you guys believe Dashel (sp?) has tax issues too? :rolleyes2
Listening to Gibbs try to justify this on TV earlier today was pretty funny. "You can't let one mistake negate decades of public service!" Now, come on. If it was you or me, and we owed that much money to the IRS that built up over a period of years? Forget a Department appointment, forget any job, we'd probably be under the jail! Special treatment ticks me off, whether you're an R or a D or an I. Inexcusable. :sad2:

Good afternoon everyone!

To the Steelers fans amongst us -- :cheer2:

To the Cardinals fans -- :grouphug:

I have no idea what happened during the game since I was DISing with y'all - and I'm sure I had more fun, non-football fan that I am. I did miss the snacks, though - I'll have to go back and look at Breezy's...

Michelle - welcome back!!!!! We really missed you and are so glad you had a great time with your DH.

And I'd like to make an announcement....Disney was very Disney today so now I am the proud owner of an ANNUAL PASS!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Called the ticket office and she didn't even act like this was a big deal - woot!

Don't know if I'll get back as early as May but I'm definitely treating myself to a trip in early December.
Yay! Glad they could help you out. I hope you can get back in May; it's a great time to go. :goodvibes

:yay:  :yay:

I golf, I golf!!!!

First advice.....GO!!!! Anytime you can get paid to golf....GO! It might be a scramble? Or is it just everyone go have fun? If it's a scramble, then you don't have to worry about being bad - they'll take the best shot out of 4 anyway.
The only golfing I ever do is mini golf, featuring fake plastic animals all around me. :rotfl2:

Ahhh... raining like crazy here. But I don't care. Teresa already knows, but this weather calls for me to go to Columbia Harbour House in a bit and have clam chowder. :goodvibes Yuuuum...... perfect on a cold, rainy day down here.
I'm getting envious, here. :sad1: We love CHH! I dearly miss their ham sandwich. Despite that, I still think it's the best CS place to eat in MK. Can't beat that view or the quiet in the upstairs dining room. :goodvibes

Hey Cindy! Others answered your question, but hello nonetheless. :wave2:

She should be fine since they changed her salary and the salary of another appointee back to what it was before the salary increases. A legal expert was on TV the other day though saying some State Dept. employee was suing to have her removed due to that law. Apparently some Constitutional scholars think reverting the salary back to what it was isn't enough. My understanding is the law doesn't really make it clear what is an acceptable way of handling that situation, so a judge will probably sort it out. Personally, as long as she and the other guy are getting the non-raised salaries, I have no problem with it. But I'm not a lawyer, obviously.

Hi! Glad I found the new thread.:thumbsup2

We're still at Disney, and having a great time. We've been going at a pretty fast pace for the last 7 days, and it 's raining today, so we decided to take a day off, and gear up for the next 7. My kids are going bonkers sitting in the hotel room.

Here are some of my favorite pictures...can't wait to work on a trip report when I get home.
