oh...thought I'd post a new picture of Jacob It has been awhile. He's nearly 8lbs now. He'll be 4 months old next week. I can hardly believe it. (though he should only be 1 1/2 months old) He's smiling and cooing now, can hold himself up really well on his tummy. He's tried to roll over but can't quite get there (thank goodness!)

I have these two teddy bears that DH gave me while we were dating. Both are Air Force teddy bears in uniform. One in desert, the other in his SF uniform. DH has a picture of DSS as a baby in the desert uniform, so we followed it up with one of Jacob. Sorry-had to blur out the name on the uniform.

We're just going to have to ride this out until the country has had enough. The clean-up will be a big job, but it can be done. Think of the political ads all this corruption and incompetence will provide in 2010, 2012, and beyond. We'll have to be polite, though, and keep our "I told you so's" to a dozen or so a day.

Honestly, Loco, I disagree. I think nothing will stick to this man. He will never be found guilty of anything. He'll be on Mt. Rushmore and the $3 bill. He's teflon man and just like most Chicago politicians, he'll find a way to squeak out of any trouble.

We're still at Disney, and having a great time. We've been going at a pretty fast pace for the last 7 days, and it 's raining today, so we decided to take a day off, and gear up for the next 7. My kids are going bonkers sitting in the hotel room.

She should be fine since they changed her salary and the salary of another appointee back to what it was before the salary increases. A legal expert was on TV the other day though saying some State Dept. employee was suing to have her removed due to that law. Apparently some Constitutional scholars think reverting the salary back to what it was isn't enough. My understanding is the law doesn't really make it clear what is an acceptable way of handling that situation, so a judge will probably sort it out. Personally, as long as she and the other guy are getting the non-raised salaries, I have no problem with it. But I'm not a lawyer, obviously.

i have been listening and watching and had not heard they moved the salaries back. good. they should.

they'll have trouble in court 'cause nixon did it. precedence has been set. i think they did the right thing and i'm good with that.

After all this last week or two of just feeling completely crappy I'm going in to the doctor tomorrow for a full physical and blood work. Given my family history we want to rule out diabetes and thyroid issues. I've already got high BP and I've been battling anemia so perhaps we can figure out what I need to do to feel normal again.

Paris rejects 'Obama-style' stimulus program

Prime Minister François Fillon on Monday rejected demands that the French government seek to stimulate consumer spending, rather than follow his plan to stimulate corporate and infrastructure investment, to lift France out of its economic slump.

"It would be irresponsible to chose another policy, which would increase our country's indebtedness without having more infrastructure and increased competitiveness in the end," Fillon said in a speech in Lyon.

He sounds like…like…like American presidents used to sound.

Well guys... CHH closed early tonight so no clam chowder!!!! So instead I went to Pinocchio Village Haus and got the pepperoni pizza and one of those mimi chocolate cakes that most of the CS restaurants have as a dessert. It was good, but I'm sad I missed out on my clam chowder. My roomie and I are going together to CHH though soon sooo.... She wants to try the tuna sandwich (which is also very good).

This is the charity that Transparant helps run. Donations help wounded soldiers and their families. Transparant doesn't know I'm putting this challenge out there so I hope she doesn't mind.

My challenge is for everyone to make a pledge today. Any amount would certainly help. If everyone on this thread just gave even $10, it would surely add up quick. All you would have to do is skip starbucks tomorrow or bring a sack lunch to work. That's not much of a sacrifice compared to the sacrifice these men and women gave.

Also, if you don't want to give cash, they accept frequent flyer miles as donations too.

And please, to all the lib lurkers, now is not the time to argue about the war, I just want to see help given to our service men and women.

Heaven help our poor economy. However, I want to mention, in the interest of full and complete transparency, that I did read the original claim the military budget would be cut is not accurate. It was much the same as Bush had requested, but not as much as the military had asked.
