Conservative Thread: U.S. Steele - Back In Business

Hi all, happy Monday. I scanned a few posts but no real time to read. That being said:

The fact that Carter has a nuclear attack submarine named after him is not devoid of humor, that's for sure. Part of me is surprised he didn't demand they not name it after him, considering his "We should just roll over and take it" attitude he hastowards our and Israel's enemies.

I dread the day they build something with Clinton's name attached to it, and just hope the contract is given to a yard other than the one my dad works for. I don't think he could take building that! :rotfl:

I am not pleased about The Bachelor being bumped back an hour for this. Maybe they'll mix the two shows and Jason will give Obama a :flower3: . :rotfl:

The US Navy has begun accepting bids on construction of the USS William Jefferson Clinton.

The warship will be a

well, thankfully I missed most of the drivel. DD was fighting going to bed.

I did almost fall asleep after the first question though when he went on and on about 1, 2, 3 of whatever the reporter did NOT ask about.

I think the reporters are still being way too gentle with the questions.

The love fest :lovestruc is in full bloom tonight on the "Enough already thread." They are so happy to have a pres that can speak intelligently. If me and my children weren't going to have to pay for it I'd hope they got exactly what he wants for them.

I keep hoping that by the time the bill gets back to the Senate from the House again the 3 Repubs change their minds about their vote.

I do not think they will be Republicans for long if they vote for this travesty. I would add Gregg to their numbers (his no-vote is unforgivable to me).

We need standards. They have none.

I find it passing strange that the Republicans who are soft on abortion are also soft on fiscal conservatism (but this is just me).

Time. for. them. to. go.

I thought the first question tonight was the best. The reporter asked, in so many words, "So Prez, you went off to flyover country today and did a Chicken Little, saying that if we don't act NOW the country will NEVER recover from this recession.  So what makes you think this current economic situation is unlike previous recessions from which the country did in fact recover?" The Obamessiah proceeded to speak for 10 minutes without answering her question.  Jerk!

Second best was when Jake Tapper asked, "Hey Barry, how will we know if your plan worked?" I give the Obamessiah credit for saying success means a) creating 4 million jobs, b) freeing up credit market, and c) stabilizing housing market. While I disagree with the stated goals I do give him credit for giving an actual answer that he should be nailed with when this thing fails.

Um, did he just say that the banks may need MORE money??????

I've been hearing chatter that there's yet another bill behind this one that will "help out the banks." Again. They're trying to keep it hush until this one passes. Obama's just setting the stage- that's all.

:lmao: I've yet to hear one intelligent word from that man's mouth. The only thing that ever comes out of his mouth is the "ummmm.. ahhhh", bold faced lies and a bunch of arrogance. If the lib's think that's the definition of intelligence... then I kind of feel sorry for them.

:lmao: That cracks me up each time that I see it.

So, I didn't watch the town hall thing today since I was at work. So, Obama was asked a tough question, his minions booed the woman asking the question and the question went unanswered by Obama, of course.

I wonder who got fired for allowing someone in that didn't fall down on their knees to worship the man?

Anyone know what the question was? I haven’t heard that part yet – just the story.

Somebody needs to tell Obama to look at the camera and not just look to the left then to the right then to the left then to the right...

It's annoying as hell. I pointed this out to my wife and she said "thanks, now I can't watch, only listen."

So... why is it "partisan" politics when Republicans vote along party line but not when Democrats do it?

Quite irritating.

That drove me nuts too. I just don't get the people that say he is such a great public speaker.

I do have to say that I got a call from my brother and his wife after the snooze fest ended. They were big Obama supporters, but now....not so much. They are tired of hearing about him and the more he talks, the more they tune him out. They said that they really made a mistake voting for him and apologized for giving me so much crap about my hate for the man.

Too bad that it is too little, too late.

Could you even imagine the left's outrage if Bush had put a Conservative talk show host in the front row at a press conference. Of course they will have no problem with their Fearless Leader doing it with a liberal talk show host.

:sad2:

Schultz gets front row seat

What if Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh were up front at Bush's press conferences in the East Room?

Well,
as network correspondents sat in the second row, liberal radio host Ed Schultz managed to snag a seat up front, right next to Helen Thomas.

Schultz told Politico's Jonathan Martin that his front row was seat was assigned to him.

Did you notice where Major Garrett was? Waaaaaay in the back.

USS CARTER:

ssn23_1.jpg

The USS Carter is a Seawolf class attack submarine. Carter served on a submarine.

USS Bill Clinton:

USSClinton.jpg

The ship is the first of its kind in the Navy and is a standing legacy to President Bill Clinton 'for his foresight in military budget cuts' and his conduct while holding the (formerly dignified) office of President.

The ship is constructed nearly entirely from recycled aluminum and is completely solar powered with a top speed of 5 knots.

It boasts an arsenal comprised of one (unarmed) F14 Tomcat or one (unarmed) F18 Hornet aircraft which, although they cannot be launched on the 100 foot flight deck, form a very menacing presence.
As a standing or der there are no firearms allowed on board.

This crew, like the crew aboard the USS Jimmy Carter, is specially trained to avoid conflicts and appease any and all enemies of the United States at all costs.

An onboard Type One DNC Universal Translator can send out messages of apology in any language to anyone who may find Ame rica offensive. The number of apologies are limitless and though some may seem hollow and disingenuous, the Navy advises all apologies will sound very sincere.

In times of conflict, the USS Clinton has orders to seek refuge in Canada .

Just kidding on the last one.

Judge Napolitano was on Glenn's show tonight and said that this Congress is going to pass legislation to give Washington D.C. two Senators and one Congressman. He said that the Republicans will go along with this, even though DC would vote democrat each time, because the Republicans will get an extra seat in Utah.:headache:

This is against the Constitution as only states can send reps, but these sleazebags are going to do it anyway. It just keeps getting better and better.

My David was a patient of St Judes for 7 years
It is absolutely the best place in the world.
We were always treated with so muck kindness and compassion.
I LOVE,LOVE St Judes
We were also the receipnet of Make a Wish (durning Davids first tumor)
He got to be the grand marshal of the parade at the MK

You are one amazing lady, Debbie #4 - thank you for sharing your story with me when I was in FL. :grouphug:

Our government is a joke.

Reading some of the things that the libs are posting out on the CB is a joke.

Are they really that stupid and that much in denial? :confused3

Between the two, I’m not feeling very optimistic for our future.

What do we do if our own government doesn't uphold the constitution? :confused3

I gotta say....with the poor Repubs being so in the minority and the country and media going ga-ga over this guy, I'm actually pretty optimistic that there has been this much of a kafuffle about the porkulus bill. Of course, it'll pass, in all of its grossness. But this wasn't nearly the easy road that BHO and the media expected.

My concern will be the things that happen without the fanfare - what could be snuck in without anyone's knowledge? Rush mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the lack-of-Fairness Doctrine wouldn't even need to be passed because there was something else that could be stuck onto a bill that would do basically the same thing, only with another name and without the bad reputation.

And we'd never know.

Goodness, this guy's scary -- I'd never thought I'd say this but, I miss Bill.

Somebody needs to tell Obama to look at the camera and not just look to the left then to the right then to the left then to the right...
DH says it is because one of his ears is higher than the other. :confused3 I know this is strange, but after he said this I looked for straight photos of him and I could not find one.

It's annoying as hell. I pointed this out to my wife and she said "thanks, now I can't watch, only listen."

So... why is it "partisan" politics when Republicans vote along party line but not when Democrats do it?

Do you mean like the situation where whites that voted for McCain were racist, but when 99% of blacks voted for their guy they were "informed voters"?

Quite irritating.
