Hey! How was Vegas?

Not bad overall. We stayed four nights at the Mirage. We saw the Cirque show playing there, The Beatles:Love, which was an incredible show.

Our only set back was Saturday. They spray the air in the Venetian with some kind of sickly sweet perfume, which triggered an asthma attack in my SO. She was OK, but we weren't able to get out the rest of the day. It also caused her to miss seeing Wayne Brady, who was playing at the Venetian. She talked me into going as our tickets were already payed for and that way we only ate the cost of one ticket. It was also a great show and WB is a very talented performer. The show was a mix of improv, comedy, and music. The theater was small, so even in the cheap seats you were close enough to the stage to have a great view.

We toured a few of the hotels on the South end of the Strip on our last day there, and hope to make it a yearly trip even if only for a couple of days.

My TV's doing that, too. I listen and listen, and it's all "blah, blah, I am the One, blah, blah, I am The One." What gives?

Must be the fault of the digital cable transition. In fact, when I see him, I don't hear anything at all. The tv goes completely silent and the word "mute" appears on the screen.

Yes, yes. This happens to me as well. It's sudden and unexpected. I look down, and YES, there's my thumb resting on the mute button, yet I have no recollection of moving it there. I had a similar affliction during the Clinton years. I never did get to the bottom of it, though. It seems to come and go. I think I'll just call it "random unexpected mute button affliction."

You worked for EA?! I've given them plenty of money inbetween Sims 1 and all it's expansion packs and Sims 2 and all the expansion and stuff packs.
If you still worked there I'd say sneak me a copy of Sims 3.
But I'll be buying that when it comes out in 16 days. Well, if I can afford it, anyway.

i was PM on a project there. it was such a great place to work. the people were mostly of the creative sort ('cept for the finance people...[yawn]), and they had games sprinkled around on all the floors..you could go play on breaks. in one building, on the first floor, was an entire game room with a giant american mcgee cheshire cat...i wanted it. they also had a library where you could check out any game they've ever been involved with. they would sent out notices to gather people to perform beta tests on their games and provide feedback on how to make them better...how kewl is that?

sadly i am not on contract there anymore, but i would definitely go back, given the opportunity.

Battlefield Heroes is a new and experimental move for the series, one aimed at a more casual audience.
Electronic Arts has announced that the often rumouredly-cancelled Battlefield Heroes game is still alive and, in fact, readying for another surge of beta testing and development.

According to RockPaperShotgun the sign-up process for beta testers has been re-enabled and the site will soon be ready for another burst of activity after having a few months of tweaks and fixes from the development team.

Eh, I've been muting Shepherd Smith since his horrendous, hysterical Hurricane Katrina coverage. Can't stand to look at him — or listen to him. But he's the only FNC person that makes me suffer "random unexpected mute button affliction."

Westwood currently is conducting a beta test of Earth & Beyond with thousands of players playing every day. Thousands of additional testers will be selected in July and August, and anyone wishing to participate in the beta test can sign up online at www.earthandbeyond.com. All testers selected, along with current testers, who purchase the retail version of the game will be included in the Founders' Federation.

I thought about you all day. Glad you're still ok. I wanted to die the other day- someone had hurled in the Splash Mountain queue. The custodian had that sweeping compound or whatever it's called on the mess (the sawdust stuff) but it still smelled and was still liquidy....

I just had this thought while perusing the CB. There are people out there who will decry Sarah Palin's immoral "slaughter of wolves," while simultaneously defending a terrorist's slaughter of children. I think that's what they mean when they say "cognitive dissonance." What must it be like to carry around a brain all day that works like that? Really. What must that be like?

Sort of like on that thread Dawn started about Glenn having the father of that girl who was kidnapped down in Mexico on the show yesterday. The libs all thought the poor girl getting kidnapped was her fault. There were some awful things said.

It's been 24 1/2 hrs......noone down yet.

i like all the resorts, so anything is okay with me. WL and AKL are two of my fave raves, but i really find something great about each one of the resorts. maybe we can stay at GF since bho is going to make us all rich and pay all of our bills.
