I'm not completely sure I"m a fan of schip to begin with. I think the gov't needs to just stay out of all of it!

if a friend or neighbor asked for help with their child's medical/insurance bill, i'd help. but now i'm going to help to take care of other people's children. i just downgraded my own health insurance 'cause the premiums were outrageous...and i don't have any conditions or take any meds...but i have to pay for that for other people now. whatev. welcome socialism...now go home.

Oh I totally agree with you there. That's another difference between cons and dems. Dems donate a TON less because they expect the gov't to do it.

maybe its splitting hairs but when he says benefits have been extended for those who have lost their jobs - isn't that what COBRA is for. It already exists. And I know the lurkers here will say but those premiums are outrageous and the average american can not pay them. OK I might agree on that. But I guess its OK if I pay it for them??

And don't get me started on the "access" to healthcare issue. My head will explode.

except that the employee pays for (seriously overpriced!) COBRA. COBRA isn't free to the beneficiary. i believe schip is for people who made too much for their children to qualify for medicaid.

There are people out there who will decry Sarah Palin's immoral "slaughter of wolves," while simultaneously defending a terrorist's slaughter of children. I think that's what they mean when they say "cognitive dissonance." What must it be like to carry around a brain all day that works like that? Really. What must that be like?

I'm right there with you, we pay out the you know what for our health insurance and I have not been to a doctor since my dd (2) was born back in August 2006. Why?? Because none are accepting new patients, they even have a list that they can put you on and when a doc becomes available they'll call you. Last time I put my name on that list I got a call for a doc that was 60 miles away in another city. I said thanks I'll just keep trying . If I absolutely have to see a doc I'll go to the urgent care center.

Any one else wonder why the film footage in the Sarah Palin commercial about the wolves looks like it was from the 80's or 90's? It's a horrible quality and I don't think I've seen anyone wear a sweater that color in years. If you're actually going to promote something, at least have recent film footage of it...

There are reasons for having to hunt wolves.
