Connection from where ToT is to Bugsland?

Looking at a park map of DCA and the way things are layed out, it appears that there was either an intent to allow you to get from the walkway by ToT into Bugsland(and vice versa) or this was a walkway at one time that was then blocked off.

Anyone know??

Don't know if it was or was supposed to be a walkway or not, but I know that Bugs Land was placed at the foot of TOT so its like you're in the grass/bushes below this huge hotel. Pretty smart actually. Can't remember if I read this somewhere or a CM told me, either way I think its cool that the whole Bugs Land is supposed to be in the grass of TOT.

As far as I've ever been there they have never been connected. It would be an easy walk through. Too bad they don't connect, but I guess they thought the two themes didn't match up. :)

I know I've mentioned that before. :goodvibes

There's no connection, but I believe that when Carsland is created, there will be.

I HATE HATE HATE the idea.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that there is only ONE way out of bug's land. So if DS gets separated from us, one parent can go to the one way out, and the other can look for him. It's something that makes us happy, unlike being in Fantasyland where there are a million exits.

How does this work when Bugs Land opened in like 2002 and ToT didn't open until 2004? :confused3 I think it could be the other way around. They added A Bugs Land next to "It's Tough to be a Bug" (which opened with DCA in 2001), and then ToT's location was so that A Bug's land could be its grass??

your 5 year old has gotten separated from you at CA? that's scary.

Yep, more like that. On the Segway Tour you get to go backstage between Bug's Land and ToT in that little CM walkway between the two. It would be sooo easy to connect them, and would save many a feet for sure! It was explained to us during the Segway Tour that They arranged ToT above Bug's Land so that the bugs would be in ToT's yard.

I'm personally looking forward to any short cut they create between ToT and the Pier area.

We wish there was a connection too. And Molly by the time CarsLand opens E will be 3 years older, he won't be getting lost then. :)

I should have used google maps to look before I posted this. I now see the service drive between the two. If they are going to connect the two, they are either going under the service drive, over it or shutting the service drive down.

Thanks for the info.

Here is a link to the satellite view...

Thats pretty much where the parade float start. If they create a walkway there, they will need to redirect the floats somehow which isnt possible as then it would have to go through the hollywood gate sign which i think som floats might not be able to pass.

I doubt there will be a connection there. If there is, it would have to be an underground path.

There will be no need to re-direct anything.

A pathway between Bugs Land and the Hollywood area will open in 2012 in order to make it easier to get to Car's Land from all areas fo the park.

Nope. That's why I said "if". :)

I'm not worried solely about my kid or future kids, I'm worried for all kids and parents in there. I've seen quite a few kids separated while in bug's land, b/c the parent goes one way (say, towards Flik's flyers, while the kid goes the other way (towards Heimlich in this scenario), and they can't see each other b/c of the water play area near the bathrooms, and I'm glad for the parents that there's just the one way out.

I've mentioned many times that my family prefers bug's land to fantasyland, and the one exit is a part of it. (the non-scary rides are another, and the no-extra-spinning "teacups" (in the form of a ladybug) is yet another))

I guess I've never noticed that Molly. But I can see how it could happen very easily.
