We are connecting on our upcoming southwest flights, which is not my preferred but I was able to book with low points during our spring break, so Ill take it for free :)

Anyway, we have the early boarding for everyone, but I am a little more concerned about boarding the 2nd time for our connecting flights. We have plenty of time between the flights. Im guessing there is no way to tell how full the flight will be before we board?

I would like all 4 of us to sit together, but if not, either one row with 1 adult and both kids OR 2 spots with 2 and 2. We are connecting at BWI. Im more worried about our too Orlando flight as its a saturday. I did some research and its originating in Portland, ME. The flight is sold out if you want to fly on it from Portland to Orlando- but each leg is not sold out alone (ie: if you want to go from Portland to BWI its fine.

I know the last time we flew southwest I stressed about this too (for nothing). Any past experiences with connecting? Should I be worried?

I flew a one stop PIT-BWI-MCO last year. 41 people stayed on board at BWI and mostly moved up to the front and spread out. So the first people on at BWI were probably shocked that the front seats were already gone.

Thank you for your insight. I have no issue not being in the front per say. Just want to make sure someone (me or DH) is with the kids. Middle or back is just fine.

I'm just back from Ft Myers for Massachusetts' February School Vacation (one of THE busiest times to fly out of the Northeast).

We flew PVD-BWI-RSW. For our PVD-BWI leg we had VERY low "B" boarding passes, for our BWI-RSW leg we had A30-A32 boarding numbers.

There were 3 of us flying (me, DS & a friend of his) and we were able to get seats together on both legs with no problem.

I will say that I did pay for the Early Bird Check In for this trip, because it is such a busy travel time.
