I have 2 rooms booked and we have guaranteed connecting rooms. Are they usually in a certain spot in the resort or could we end up

Anywhere? Hoping to have a higher floor and Epcot facing room. Thx

One more question, we need to make sure each room has 2 queen beds.... Should we call and put in a request for that?

I booked them together and requested them, shows on my reservation that connecting rooms are guaranteed. I think because of the number of children we

Will have with us. I did call and verify it.

Unfortunately, connecting rooms is just a request and is not guaranteed, regardless of what it says on the confirmation and/or what a CM tells you. The only time connecting rooms are guaranteed is if there is one adult out numbered by more children than can fit into one room, and even then connecting rooms are not always granted. If there are 2 adults to several children, Disney can split you up and put 1 adult in each room. With that said, Disney will do everything they can to accommodate your request, but if connecting rooms are not available, you won't get them.

Ok that's fine, back to my original question.... Are they spread throughout the resort or are they located in specific areas? And do we need to request queen rooms?

Thank u!

My main question is...are all rooms capable of connecting, and if not- is there a specific area of the hotel where connecting rooms are typically located?

When I did online check in, where the option is to make requests- it shows connecting rooms- guaranteed and was gray'd out so that i could not uncheck that box. Im assuming that means we will have them, but if not Im not worried about it.

When we were there in March, there was a connecting door for our room. We did not need a connecting room and we were on the 5th floor with a view overlooking the garden and could see Epcot. It was a lovely room.

When we were there in August, we were also on the 5th floor with a garden view looking out to Epcot, but there was no connecting door to another room.

I think they are spread throughout the resort, but I know there are connecting rooms on the 5th floor looking out to Epcot. I've reported my personal experience. Good luck!

Thank you Sandi :)

You are welcome! I really hope you get the room we got in March. It was just perfect. I don't know whether it connected to another room with 2 queen beds though. Have a wonderful trip!

There are a limited number or rooms with connecting doors, not all rooms have connecting doors and not all are 2 queens. They are scattered throughout the resort. It will be difficult to request a certain area when you are requesting connecting rooms as they are limited and in demand. The earlier you check in the better the chance of receiving the request of connecting rooms and/or certain other requests.

As PP's have mentioned regardless of what is on the reservation Disney has a lovely little fine print clause that basically only guarantees you a room somewhere at one of their resorts, not even at the resort you booked. It is highly unusual for that to happen but it can and not receiving connecting rooms happens more frequently simply as demand will exceed availability. If you travel during a slower time and arrive to check in early you will increase your chances of having your requested rooms available. HTH.

There are connecting rooms throughout the resort, but it will depend on whether 2 rooms that match your criteria will be available on your check in day.

However, you've mentioned several requests - connecting rooms, queen beds in both rooms, upper floor, view of Epcot - so you'll need to prioritize them and choose the most important one or two. If you list too many requests the room assigners might assign rooms that fulfill most of your requests, but not your most important.

Also, if you check in early in the day, but are willing to wait until late afternoon to get into your rooms you'll have a better chance.

When I checked in online- it said to choose your requests, so I picked 4th or 5th floor and then it said if you want the room to be ready on arrival and have that take priority over the other requests to check that box. I didnt check that, it would be nice for the rooms to be ready but i would rather have a better location.

Honestly I wasnt sure if queen beds were the norm and you had to request a King bed if you wanted that- or the other way around- or luck of the draw.

Always list your requests in the order of what is most important. And remember that if you make a bunch of them it makes it less likely you will get all of them met.
