confusion over booking procedure

I booked preferred view at BWV in March. I wanted standard view but there was one day in the middle of my vacation that was unavailable.

So here is my question. If I had booked with the one day missing what are the chances that it would come up. Do you book the preferred for that one day in case it doesn't come up? I'm confused about protocol on these kinds of issues. Especially since it is the middle of my vacation booking.

And another question my preferred view was listed as pool or green.....boardwalk preferred views are separate reservations from the others? Gone first?

And what is standard view at BWV.....parking lot/ some water views...pathway to MGM?

Thanks in advance for the guidance.

I don't think there's really a standard procedure. It depends on how many points you have, how far away the trip is, and how badly you want your first choice.

If you had a lot of spare points, you could book both the preferred view and standard view with the one night waitlisted. You could then cancel the preferred if the waitlisted night came through, or you could cancel the standard if the waitlisted night didnt' come through.

That would only work if you had enough points to cover both reservations, though. Obviously you wouldn't want to book both if you had to borrow points because then when you canceled one of the reservations, you'd have points in a holding account, which you want to avoid. Booking both also wouldn't be a good idea if your trip is only slightly more than 30 days away. You might also want to think twice about doing that if you're looking for the room during a very high-demand time, but as long as you don't need to borrow, it wouldn't hurt to try.

Boardwalk views are reserved separately. You could waitlist for that if you wish.

Hi,

I have the same problem. I'm waiting for a Boardwalk view to come through in the middle of my trip. I booked a PV, so I had something.

Best Wishes* :sunny:

I was in the same boat for March. I wanted to book Std View Studio at BWV and was told that 2 nights were unavailable (1 in the middle and then the last night). I was booking them day-by-day and got the the wait list for the night in the middle of the trip. The next morning when I called to extend reservation a day the MS rep told me that my waitlist had come thru!!! So, I got the room in the middle of the week, now I'm just waiting to find out about the last night....

We've got just under 7 months, so I'd think there's a pretty good chance that the wait lists could come thru.
