Confusing question

I hope someone can help me! We have a December use year. We currently have 6 points left of our 08 UY points. I plan on switching from AKV kidani savannah view studio to OKW studio for our Nov. 2009 trip that will decrease our points needed from 72 to 57. I need to add a night at SSR (studio) for our June trip which will cost me 13 points, I will have those points no problem once I make the switch from AKV to OKW. I want to add the SSR night in the very near future BUT here is my question...I don't want to borrow any points from my 2009 UY, do I have to cancel my Nov. 09 ressie in order to free up those 7 additional points? I can't make the OKW 11/09 ressie until April (7 months). Do you think it will be hard to get into a studio at OKW at 7 months out for Novemeber? I hope this makes sense!

If you want a June ressie at SSR, I don't see how you can do that without first borrowing some points, since you obviously want to make that ressie now. If you wait until April, it will be pretty tough to get a June studio anywhere!

If your November trip is for Thanksgiving, you might have an issue at the 7 month window for a studio too. If it's not around the Thanksgiving week, I don't think there will be a big issue.

You will have to free up the points first or borrow. If the SSR date is available, just drop one day from your AKV reservation now. I doubt you'll have any trouble getting OKW for November unless possibly it's the week of Thanksgiving. You might also consider changing to a value or standard view at AKV now to free up the points and at least you'd have something for the dates you need if OKW isn't available.

Can't you just borrow the 2009 points now to book the June 2009 trip and then bank the 08 points that get freed up in April when you switch your November trip?

You would still be in your banking window at that time. Basically, you are using some 2009 points, but will be replacing them in 2009 UY with 2008 points.
