Okay so here's the question...I'm planning an 11 day stay for the end of January on the DxDP (makes most sense for us with shows & signatures planned). It's possible my 180+10 dining windown may open before I have resort reservations. I'm wondering how it will work since one of the ADR's I'll be trying to get is for CRT. I know they normally charge your cc right away when reserving unless you are on the dining plan. So if I don't have a resort stay booked yet, does that mean I'll need to use a cc? Same with Hoop De Doo that I plan on booking...this could mean a couple hundred dollars I'm spending now for a meal in January that should have been prepaid. Anyone know how this works? Thanks!

You are right, you either need to link CRT, or any of the dinner shows to your Dinning Plan at the time of the reservation or pay by credit card.

Given that you are able to make changes to any package reservation you make, and you only need to pay the deposit ($200 if I remember correctly). Maybe it will be easier to go ahead an make a reservation now, and change the resort as needed?

I am interested in seeing what the more knowledgable folks recommend! I would think with the need for 180 day ADRs now, that your situation cannot not be an uncommon with with trip planning.

Good Luck with your ADRs :cheer2:

Please note that if you don't have resort reservations you CANT do 180+10. Because 180+10 is only for those staying onsite. You need to have the reservation first to do that. If you don't have a resort reservation at 180 days from your first day you will only be able to book for your first day.

Due to this I would definitely recommend booking first, even if you have to make changes later.

To answer your direct question though if you don't link the reservation to the dining plan and have to use a CC guarentee for CRT and HDDR then you would get the money back when you to the restaurant and use a credit, but that would mean floating a few hundred dollars for 6 months.

Duh...good point! I should have realized that! I guess I'll wait it out just a bit longer and hope they release 2013 packages soon. If not, I'll just suck it up and book a room only so I can take advantage of the extra window and charge what I need too.

Thanks!

Most of the advice I'm seeing is to just book the room you want. You can make changes and cancel with no penalties as long as you're working within the timeframe Disney gives you.

If you've got your heart set on CRT, then I would book resort reservations now, and apply discounts and make changes later.

I would second this advice. I have a room only for one night and a package starting the next day. My 180+10 started on the second reservation. CRT is not always easy to book my resort and make the ADR.
