Ok, so I know all about the Memory Maker that you can pre purchase for $149.99 in advance, but I am not interested in that? Do they still offer the PhotoPass?

We will be going in November and I would love to get 1 or 2 pictures to use as our Christmas Card since the Christmas decorations will be up then. How does this work now? Do I still have to get one of those cards or do I have them scan my MagicBand. Can I still have a ton of pictures taken and then view all of them when I get home to decide? What about ride photos. I have been reading that they automatically go on your account but do you have to have the Memory Maker package for this?

So confused. Thanks.

Memory Maker is similiar to Photopass. Here's a good link, read the comments, the author clears the air about it: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2013/12/memory-maker-launches-at-walt-disney-world-resort/

It seems, to me anyway, that the biggest difference between the 2 is that with MM+ you can download your pictures immediately on your computer or mobile device, as opposed to photopass where you have to wait til you basically get home. Otherwise they seem the same, the pictures expire 45 days after for both...

If you're in too much question about it, just take your own camera. The picture taking CMs will be more than happy to take pics of your family for you!

You can still do PhotoPass the "old" way. They will give you a card. They also were scanning Magic Bands, but I don't know if that was for the pre-paid Memory Maker.

When you get home, you put the card's info in and view your photos. PhotoPass is $169 for your choice of digital download or the CD shipped to you. Your photos expire 45 days after they are taken.

You can also order just a few prints. Starting at $15 or the greeting card packs are $29.

We didn't get MemoryMaker before we went. I took our camera and took pictures that way also. Big difference: we did not get ride photos. And it's $20 more than the prepay price for the digital download of our character pictures.

I believe that Memory Maker is Photopass. Just a new name.

Not true. PhotoPass is the name of the photo-taking service. Memory Maker is a product that you can buy that replaced the PhotoPass + CD. (The main difference is that MM is strictly downloads, rather than a CD.) To use the service you can either get a card from the photographers or they can scan your Magic Band. If you have Magic Bands, the ride pictures will automatically scan to your account, no Memory Maker needed.

You can preorder the PhotoPass Archive CD (which doesn't include ride and dining photos) for $119, which is $30 less than Memory Maker.
