What is a 'soft open'? Is that employees only or what? And if not, are they going to keep it open until the 'grand opening'?

TIA,
Cheryl

it IS open to guests since in the first week of may they did a soft opening, they open it at certain times- i've heard sometimes at 2pm or earlier. But their not going to make an "official" Grand opening till the 22nd with all the Bells and whistles..

They were letting guests ride from noon to closing last week. Not sure if that is still going on. Anyone know? They need to put the finishing touches on the ride. Last week riders were not even going through the main entrance to ride and there was scaffolding around the loading area still. Pools were murky and did not seem to have a lot of water in them. The theming under the track is still not all finished.

Starting the 26th there is early opening for silver, gold,, and platinum pass holders to ride before the park officially opens at 9AM.

typically a new ride will open like this - basically what's happening is testing. From your perspective it 'might be open' and it might not. no ga'rty. They'll run 'til they decide they need to make adjustments then shut down...the closer you get to the 'hard opening' the longer you can expect it to be open daily. heck, aquatica opened weeks b4 the official date in 'soft' mode where not all attractions were always available (and food service stunk!)

we rode MISSION: SPACE b4 it opened like this. it was still operating VERY FAST and many folks were physically ill when they got off... That's what testing is for I suppose.
