When I made ressie for January 2008, I asked MS about purchasing AP vouchers. I explained that DH, DSs and I will all need adult APs, but DD will be 9, turning 10 later in January (after the conclusion of our trip). MS rep told me I had to purchase an adult AP for DD because she will turn 10 during the month when I purchase it. That did not seem right, so I decided to wait to purchase AP vouchers until later. Am I wrong that DD can use her child AP for one year from the date of purchase, or does she have to change to an adult AP when she turns 10? We hope to take another trip in June 2008, and having APs would really be good, but I don't want to pay more than I need to pay.

Not sure about how the birthday in the month of purchase works, but if that is correct... just purchase them at the end of December. I think you will have to upgrade hers to an adult when you go in June, anyway.

I wouldn't even tell them that DD is turning 10 after the first use of AP's.

I had a similar situation...DS was 9 when I purchased and used the AP's for the first time in August 06. He turned 10 in Sept 06. We used his child AP in August 06, October 06, & April 07 without any issues. Now this year he will be upgraded to a adult because he is 10 when we upgrade.

I think the age only comes into play when you purchase the tickets. If you purchase them when the child is 9, then she should get a child AP, but is the problem that when you turn in the voucher she is already 10?? I think reality is you are the only one that would know, so its up to you?

If she is 9 when you use the ticket the 1st time then she is still a "child"

The policy is that you need to buy the ticket applicable to the age of the child when he/she will use it for the first time.

If you child turns 10 after the conclusion of your January trip, she definitley only needs a child's AP, which is for ages 3- 9. The MS CM was wrong.

I had the same situation, and that's what I was told. DS was 9 when we bought the child's AP, then we took a subsequent trip after he turned 10 but before the AP expired and he still used the child's AP for that trip. You should be all set!

We also inquired about the age change during the first year of AP usage. MS told us that is the age the child is when AP is purchased. So if DS turns 10 he can still use the AP child ticket. Hope this helps
