Confused about waitlisting on website with a current ressie

OK, I should know this already, but I don't believe we've actually considered this scenario before. I already have a ressie at SSR, but would like to try someplace new. So I go on the website, (difficult to get on the phone at work) rather than calling, and the request form asks for choice 1 and choice 2 of dates, then choices of resorts. I give two choices of dates, very close to each other (i.e. 11/25-11/30 and 11/26-12/1)- my current ressies are for 11/25-11/30. I then give several choices of alternative resorts- two on the form and others in the comments. So, do I need enough points to cover both my current ressie and the requested ressie, since one is a slightly different timeframe? For example, if the second choice of dates came up(doubtful in this case, but just for future reference), even though they overlap with the current ressie dates, would I need enough points for both ressies before they booked the new dates. Sorry if I'm confused!

I am currently on a waitlist for BCV for the middle of Sept. and have a reservation for those dates for AKV savannah view. I did not make the reservatin using the internet but the CM was very specific in asking if I wanted them to cancel the AKV reservation and use the points for the BCV one if it comes through. I have enough points that it would cover both but this way I don't have to worry about cancelling one as they will do it before making the other. You might want to put your preferences in the comment section of the form. Don't forget you can call on weekends now so you may do better to call on a day off and make certain things are set up the way you want them.
