Confused about SSR Dec. 2003 pts.

After speaking with MS I'm still confused. One of the selling points of DVC was when my sales associate said that by purchasing Dec. 2003 I get to keep all my points. (255pts) and in 2004 I get 255 more pts. Today I booked for August 2004 with my 2003 points. Should I have 510 pts. for 2004 ? I thought I was getting more pts. by purchasing in 2003 than if someone purchased say Jan. 2004. If your use year in Feb. 2004 than do you get to make ressie in 2005 ?

Your Dec 2003 points are good for the year starting Dec 2003 going through Nov 2004. Assuming you took advantage of the price break of $10 off per point if you agree not to use your points until after SSR opens, then you only have from May to Nov 2004 to use your Dec 2003 points without banking. In Dec 2004, you'll get your new points.

The Use Year means that your points are renewed each year on the first day of that month (Dec, Feb, Mar, Apr, Jun, Aug, Sep, Oct).

You have until that date the following year to use or bank those points. Your December, 2003 points may be used for a reservation between December 1, 2003 and November 30, 2004. If you won't need them during that time, you can bank them to use between Dec. 1, 2004 and Nov. 30, 2005.

Those that have a February Use Year have similar choices, but will get their points 2 months later than those with a December Use Year.

Even if you have banked points- if you later decide you want to make a reservation during that USe Year, you can borrow from the following year to make a reservation. (If you've already banked those Dec. 2003 points and later decide to take a trip in October- you can borrow points from your Dec. 2004 Use Year for that reservation.)

Remember that use year and calendar year are totally different things.

Calendar Year: Jan 1st through Dec 31st.

<u>Use Year</u> is the 12-month period beginning with your use year month.

A December use year chart looks like this:

etc.

A February use year chart looks like this:

As you can see there's only 2-months difference between a Dec 2003 use year and a February 2004 use year.

Yes, but that's not until DEC 1, 2004 that you get them.
