Confused about MYW Passes

Booked my first MYW package (w/dining) and am a little confused. Usually I have an AP, so I book things in pieces, so with the package I think things are a little different.

I am splitting my stay between 2 Disney resorts. Will be staying 2 nights at Port Orleans French Quarter and 7 nights at the Wilderness Lodge. My paperwork shows a 10-day park hopper pass. If the pass is on the room key and I am switching resorts, how does this work? How will the WL know I have a 10-day park hopper pass? How does this work on check-out/check-in day? Would it be a separate ticket from my room key?

Rooms for MYW packages must be booked at the package rate, not the AP rate. This includes both rooms if you want dining on both.

I am told that the meals and park admission for the second package will not be available until check in day for that package.

When you switch resorts, with an MYW package for each resort room, you must order some kind of MYW admission ticket for each package. So each member of the party will end up with two MYW tickets on the respective room keys. It is more cost effective to order admission passes for the entire vacation for the first package and as little as one day on the passes for the second package, the latter passes for future use. Or perhaps one day passes for both packages while you use leftover passes exclusively or use annual passes.

While the same kind of park pass has to be ordered for each occupant of the room, each family member can add days, water park fun, etc. individually after arrival at the resort.

The park admissions for the first package cannot be put on the room key for the second package because the (one day or whatever) pass for the second package is already on that key. You need to be extra careful because you need the second room key with you to get the meals (with the dining plan) but you must not insert the second room key into turnstiles while you are continuing use of the first package park admissions.

Disney will transport your luggage for you while you go to a park early on check out day for the first resort, and return to the second resort late that day. From what folks have reported here, the time it takes the luggage to be delivered is unpredictable.

Magic Your Way admissions do not expire if the ticket or room key has not yet been put into a turnstile. Some packages require a minimum number of park days.

Your 10 day ticket will be on your POFQ ID. You have two options when you transfer to WL.

1) You can do nothing and continue using the park admissions off of the POFQ ID. Your park ticket will continue to be valid until used up even after you check out.

2) You can have WL transfer the remaining admissions to the WL ID.

The park admissions for the first package cannot be put on the room key for the second package because the (one day or whatever) pass for the second package is already on that key.

So should I just check out of POFQ early in the am and go straight to the WL to check in?

So on the day of check out from the 1st resort, I need to use this key for meals, but then use the 2nd key to get in to the parks?

So I would use the room key from POFQ as a park hopper pass for the entire trip and only use the WL card for meals?

2) You can have WL transfer the remaining admissions to the WL ID.

So I would need to check out of POFQ and go directly to the WL and do this before any dining or entering a park, correct?

Did you have to get at least a 1 day ticket on the WL package?

With nine or ten theme park days, where you spend the nights being irrelevant, the most cost effective MYW admission by far is a single expiring pass that spans it all. It would be financially disastrous to begin using a second admission pass that comes with a second resort package or that you already owned.

Not sure whether nowadays you can book two consecutive packages (at different resorts) with just one required MYW admission pass, in which case the unused admission from the first stay can be put on the second room key. If the second stay is room-only you can have admissions transferred to that room key.
