Confused about early entry

I tried to search the forum too and came up with nothing. We will be staying onsite in early June 2015 (park days will be Friday, Sat, Sun & Mon). Will someone explain early entry to me please.

1. Is there a schedule of which park has early entry on which day?

2. Is the entire park open or just the HP areas?

Right now only Universal is open for early entry. It may be different by next summer. This past summer, both parks were open.

During early entry, Despicable Me is open as well as the entire Diagon Alley.

OK thanks. We aren't HP fans at all so I'm not even sure it's something we'll end up doing, although I think it might be worth checking out.

Being an HP fan will enhance your enjoyment of the area, but it certainly isn't necessary. The area is quite amazing and well worth visiting no matter what your experience with HP may be.
