The 60 day window opened this morning for our first day of our trip. We checked the availability for FP Avatar and Rivers of light and it shows them unavailable for our entire stay which is going into 61-65 days out..???

Yup.
Your trip (at 5-6 days) is relatively a short one.

Those guests with 6-10 day trips will have been able to book "hot" FPs prior to
your booking date.

However, just keep checking and rechecking, as these things tend to fall in and out
of availability as guests make changes in their plans
-and-
as Disney makes changes in the park hours and events closer to the actual dates.

From the sounds of it, FoP is sometimes falling into the 65-66 days out.

I just checked and I can book RoL for 6:50 pm arrival on October 29. What day are you trying to book for?

Actually we did get RoL booked for October 29th but isn't available the rest of the trip.

You can book for your entire trip on that first day unless you have an annual pass.

That's correct. At 60 days you can book all your fastpasses up to 69 days if you are staying onsite

What if you have a back to back resort reservation? One day at a value resort and then moving the next day to another resort? Can you book ALL fast passes 60 days prior to the check in at the 1st resort?

Yes, I just did this for my 2 RO back to back reservations and was able to book at 60 +13 days. Not only that but I was able to book fastpasses for everyone in my MDE even though half of them are arriving a week later than us. I don't think it works if you booked a package.

If you're on site you can book all your days at 60 days. AP's are the same

AP's can book one day at a time starting at 30 days out and hold up to 7 FP days within a 30 day period. But staying on site they get the same access as other on site guests

You may find the Split Stays post in the FP FAQ helpful.

If you have an annual pass and are staying onsite you can book your entire trip (I booked 16 days of FP back in March/April when I went on a long trip)

We may try our luck with FoP on the morning AK has EMH getting there at rope drop.
