Conflicting info about bringing alcohol onboard

I will comment on the corking fee charged in the dining room. On our 7 night Alaskan cruise we brought a bottle to dinner with us each evening. Out of the 7 nights our servers only charged us for 2 of the evenings. Of course we tacked on a little extra to their tips at the end of the cruise as a thank you.

No. BUT....

Let the popcorn eating fest begin!!!

I was reading the boards, and drinking my Pepsi when I saw this. Soda just about came out my nose! :jester:

Other posters have indicated bringing your own glass of wine to the MDR is not appropriate. Is there any consensus about this practice?

If I'm staying concierge and hit the pre dinner drinks service and get a glass of wine and bring it to dinner....and my cousin in a normal room opens her bottle of wine she brought and pours some into the glass her room steward brought and takes it to dinner...and my aunt buys a glass of wine at a bar and brings it to dinner...tell me just HOW there can be any policing?

I'm not going to take my bottle of McMenamins Ruby Ale (local brewery) to the pool deck and drink from it (even if it's in a can or a plastic bottle) but a glass of wine in a DCL glass taken to dinner? That's not going to cause me a sleepless night.

And of course there's no consensus. :)
