Confirmed "new kids menu" sightings

We went to Beaches on Saturday and this is the menu for kids:

all meals $7.49, served with seasonal fruit and choice of 1% milk, juice, bottled water:

mini cheeseburgers
hamburger
grilled cheese sandwich

fries and softdrink available upon request.

That is definitely confirmed! Also, 2 CMs that I spoke with at different places confirmed that Disney is rolling out healthier kids menus, some in the form of the new kids meals, and some with fruit as the standard and fries as the optional instead.

I LIKE that! My kids never ever eat the fries no matter where we are, home or Disney, so I stopped ordering 'meals' for them if we're in a rush. Most places around here that have fruit as an option have a surcharge on it.

That's basically what they've always had, but it used to come with a cookie & drink wasn't included, for $5.49.

So is the fruit considered the appetizer? or the dessert? Do they still get an ice cream? I guess that is all that really matters to my 4yo.

At B&C, kids didn't get an appetizer, and dessert was the cookie that came with the meal. (usually, anyway - there were a few reports that someone was allowed an appetizer or dessert.)

Wow this is all so rediculous why would a place that is known for there icecream not give the kids an ice cream for there dessert. This will go over so well " Go ahead Julianna enjoy your grapes while me, daddy, and Ashley have our icecreams". I bet they see lots of kids throwing fits in there restaurant. I guess if this is still the case when I get there I will share my food with her and buy her an icecream and save her TS for another day.

Wow, it seems to me that the price of kids meals has gone up quite a bit since my last trip and the selection has gone way down. I am glad my kids are going to be adults on DDP this trip. If they were still little, I would probably have them share adult meals with us. The worst part to me is the kids' dessert. My kids loved those special ice cream sundaes or cups of dirt. I can't imagine any kid wanting some fruit while the grown ups have cake and ice cream. :confused3

oh, yeah... forgot. The kids meal at B&C comes with a chocolate chip cookie.

The fruit is considered a side dish, the cookie the dessert. They still have the Mickey sundaes ($3.99) but you have to purchase it separately if you want it.

At LTT and 50s I planned on having my girls share a meal there, since the amount they offered was so much for them! But I think the new menu will still allow this, so no bother really. LTT does bug me though, as their meal was pretty good before.

Looks like I am a minority here but I think my child will really enjoy these new options. She is a huge veggie and fruit eater, and doesn't really eat meat.

My kids eat more like the new menus than the old ones really, so they will work out fine for us. The fruit and cheese plate will be huge with them! And they will eat that plain old chicken as well, all of it! Not sure about the sweet potatoes though, but the rest is normal for them. Might mess up my having them share though at those two places, but oh well.

Not excusing the options at B&C, but the adult ice cream is more than big enough to share with a child.

B&C was always the least expensive kid's TS option, until the new menu came out.

I agree that my DD will have no problems with the new menu since our trip is only a week & we have several buffets. We're disappointed about the dessert options, but there's always too much food anyway, so I have no problem sharing my dessert with her.

I'm waiting to see what the a la carte options are at places like Coral Reef & CSH. We chose them partly on the fact that DD could have lobster soup, fish, & steak.

Just FYI,

here's the kids' menu from Jiko:

Green peas & carrots $3

Peanut butter & jelly sandwich with fruit, carrot and celery sticks $6
Grilled cheese with carrot and celery sticks, peanut butter, and fruit $6
Grilled chicken breast with red skin mashed potatoes and fruit $8
Broiled salmon with red skin mashed potatoes and fruit $8
Grilled beef filet with red skin mashed potatoes and fruit $11
Macaroni & Cheese with white cheese sauce $6

Is this from experience in the last couple of weeks or from the menus on AllEarsNet? The menus on AllEarsNet are NOT correct - the children's menus have not been updated for the individual restuarants -- just a notation with the menu at the top of the page.

this is the menu that I took a snapshot of on October 06, 2006. So yes, this is from experience. I have a couple pics on the food picture thread around page 315/316

The fruit they get is just grapes.

To the OP - I can't speak from personal experience, but I have seen 2 posts saying that the new menu is now at Boatwright's and Kona.

jennwdw If you have personal experience at other restaurant please post the name here. (I'm personnally interested in Le Cellier said:
We just got back yesterday from a 9 night stay. We had the "new" kids menus at Sci-Fi and Kona Cafe. At both, the a-la-carte entrees were mac&cheese and cheeseburger. At Kona, the appetizers were chicken noodle soup or salad. My kids won't eat either of these. They did give us the option of getting one of the appetizers from the combo meals. Both kids got & enjoyed the sweet potato sticks.

At Le Cellier, they still have the old kids' menu. My DS had chicken fingers and DD had a burger there. They also had steak, hot dog, and (I think) grilled chicken. They also let the kids have smoothies for a drink. Desserts were still the campfire smore and the chocolate moose.

Spoodles was the most flexible of any restaurant we encountered using the dining plan. The kids were allowed to order from the adult menu. Mine didn't choose to, because they'd rather have "plain" food. They also allowed substitutions. Both of my kids had grilled chicken with french fries and goldfish instead of the mashed potatoes and veggies that were on the menu. The only thing excluded from the dining plan was the dessert sampler. DH & I couldn't even pool our desserts to get that. But, that's ok, 'cause the chocolate apricot pistaschio cake was awesome!!

We didn't eat at the other restaurants, so I can't help you there.

As of Sunday, 10/8, Coral Reef did not have the new menu. There were only 2 appetizer options, I think. One was a veggie plate and I think the other was the mushroom or lobster bisque. My kids had the veggie plate. They still had the same entrees they've had for awhile. DD had grilled mahi, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. DS had buttered noodles -- they offered a cheese or marinara sauce, but he doesn't do sauces. They both had the build your own sundae for dessert.

Does anyone know if they still have the KIDS all you can eat platter at WWC?
What about Pop has their menu changed? (not that it was that great.) Also intrested in wolfgang. Thanks

Okay, it has just taken me until now to realize that two of the three options (aside from the specials that some of the restaurants have) are cold. Is the pita pizza cold too? Or is it just the veg/fruit plate and the chicken strips? (which I had assumed was grilled chicken, but warm grilled chicken) Are these meals being prepared by the staff at each restaurant or are they being plated up elsewhere and bought in, which would explain why they are cold, and also the no substitution thing.
